Here is the gist from Toms latest email........... "Better than good news... from Tom:
Hi all.
It's been 6 weeks since my last CT scan which showed over 85 lung nodules and growth. I started chemo 6 weeks ago and have completed 2 of 6 cycles. Today, there are zero lung nodules. This does not mean I am "cured". Most people with cancer are never really cured, but it does mean the drugs and our lifestyle changes are working! We were shocked beyond belief when we got the news. I keep reading the radiologist's report to make sure there was no mistake...
Keep in mind there is no known treatment, no protocal for Tom's rare subtype, so this chemo combo was experimental. So we are blown away! And yes, T started the next round of chemo today. Is tolerating well, tho it's been a crazy emotional day and he's now planted in front of the tube. Full speed ahead."
Amazing news..............just incredible!! |

Thanks for this posting Steve. Needless to say, we were shocked at the news yesterday. I read stories about people who were given dire prognoses from their Doctors and then who "took matters into their own hands" and reversed cancer. I believe the chemo was a big factor but my other lifestyle changes have helped as well. I don't believe my battle is over and I will have to keep going with my diet and exercise regimine forever so that my immune system can take over when the chemo ends...I have to admit I am leary about continuing to kite in the Gorge. My gut tells me the water is polluted with all kinds of toxins, DDT, other pesticides, bacteria, PCB's, and nucleotides from Hanford. Does anyone know more about this? I know about the Riverkeeper project and "Gorge nose syndrome" but that research appears to be focusing on biological toxins. I am concerned about those, but more concerned with other toxins. I cannot afford for my immune system to waste precious resources attacking shit that is floating in the water...We have found a couple reports on the internet but nothing definitive...
Anyway, I really appreciate all your support. Hearing friend after friend tell me that I can beat this beast makes a difference.
See you suckas on the water!
