Ok, so it's the end of my summer vacation and I'm looking out the window at rain. Yea it's perttty, smells good, but fact is I'd rather go kiting. My mind flashes back to the marginal session I had a ss and I'm glad I decided to stay out in marginal conditions and work on my strapless surfboard tacks.
Now it's 7am and change and I'm watching ARG and GRE hoop it up.
Man USA dismembered the Auzzies..did you see that?
What to do today? What process do you go through in your mind when you know you can't ride? What logic do you use to deceive yourself into thinking that it's ok to not get session?

yesterday was dreamy and today is looking a lot better
12 point five foot nw swell coming this evening 
hope the storm lasts till then
shits all wet and ready for today 
hasn't quit blowing since yesterday afternoon |

maybe it's time to go through your gear.
make sure line lengths are correct.
board screws are tight.
check your kites, harness, and lines for excessive wear.
get the stuff repaired in your downtime so your are ready for the next wave.
as for what goes through my mind when I know I can't kite.
I accept it won't happen and the focus on getting my work done so I can play on another day.
the nice thing is I've had water time the 8 out of the last 10 days.
