It was awesome until found myself wiping out in front of the barge with board out of reach. Bye, bye trusty SX. Big thanks to everyone who helped looking for it!
Hope Gorge shops have good closeouts they can hook me with!

That ship was coming fast, when I noticed it, it was almost right on me. Bummer about your board.
Wind was awesome though. I almost was to leave for the coast when it started blowing.

| were you the two guys with your kites at 12 and that huge bulk carrier blowing its horn? that was one of the biggest ships i've seen on the columbia and she was really haulin. we were really scared for you on the beach looked like you were right in it's path - she was blasting on that horn that made the regular barges sound like nothing - glad you were okay. Ships helmsman was probably freaking too nothing he could do to avoid you. As soon as you can see a ship at Jones stop crossing the channel in case something goes wrong - stay over on the WA side or play close in to the launch even if you do go down wind. Don't muck around dragging for your board if you can see a ship just get out of there and try and track it till the ship passes.

| Also try to keep in mind that there will be a wind shadow or swirling wind when you are dealing with ships that big. If you are downwind of those ships your kite has a good chance of falling out of the sky so be sure to give the boat a wide berth.

No kidding! And I thought it was just adrenaline telling me she was a monster that appeared out of nowhere. Needless to say the moment I saw her I didn't waste even one second considerig whether to retrieve the board.
On a brighter note - big thanks to Pepi for an advice and a new Recoil to have fun with.
