Big congratulations to the “Ski Boys” Cory & Jim!! Is Cory’s time of 44:58 a course record?

Next year’s Blowout is sure to be a huge showdown between the skis and surfboards.

Thanks for posting the results Phil!!

Hey I'm sorry if the results are confusing or inaccurate. I wasn't taking times I just digitized what was on the results sheet. I think there was some confusion at the finish in some cases.

I saw Tony at the beach too Wink

Stop giving Phil a hard time its hard to record times from over 10 sheets of paper hand written times. I would say they did a great job keeping track of times this year, can't make everyone happy. If you really care about your time next year go up to the time recorder and make sure they get your time.

Peace

Mary,
There were definitely a few errors on the finish results, but it was pretty hectic. I know you were the top femaile finisher so great job Very Happy

I think for next year, we should really make sure to keep away from the timekeepers. Going over once to make sure that they got your number and time correct is great, but having a mob around makes it difficult for them to do their job accurately.

The list has a few errors but Phil did a great job after you see what he was working with.

I just go up and I will look at the list and posted the correct one in a few.

I think we should look into having numbers on the front of jerseys as well. I know it was hard to see the backs of racers as they went by. Adding to the problem was the harness covering the numbers.

Remember this is all for fun! Each year it gets better and better.
Thanks again to all the racers, helpers and organizers.

Hey Mary, Carol got your time written down on the score sheet as being about 3 seconds behind John. (John vouched for you). I think you're confused on me coming in behind you though - I was on the beach a while before you got there and did come in right before Amery.

I think the timekeeping crew did really well overall; especially with so many of coming in and running around trying to figure out where we were. Probably need some crowd control next year to keep us back from the score keepers!

The only problem I saw with the whole race is that it was started with many of us still on the beach waiting in line to get out. I helped a bunch of people get through the line and ran boards, etc... and in the end I was on the beach for at least 6 to 10 minutes after the start. We still have some work to do with the logistics of getting everyone on the water at the right time.

I know Gman went strapless

....and to think that there was some ass at the launch trying to tell him that a strapless rider should be in the "non-competitive" division. Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes Way to make him eat his words Gman Twisted Evil And props to all the other strapless riders in the event!

For those that haven't kited the area between viento and the hatch; tackling that area without straps is super hard core!! Nice work Gman.

It's really challenging to keep scores times straight when there are so many participants. We ran into this issue at the la ventana classic and kitexpo as well with 130 participants. The first run is always a learning experience. I'm sure people learned from this to make it more accurate for next year, just like us. Jersey #'s on the front definitely help and not crowding the time keepers!

Hey Marybeth,

I wasn't super clear on my post (still tired!), but Carol was checking on all the girls times after we got to the BBQ and couldn't find your name anywhere on the list. So she started asking the people at the table as she knew you had beat her in and somehow John happened to be there and he said you came in about 3 seconds behind him. So Carol wrote your name into the score sheet. Not sure how you got missed being the first girl across but things were pretty hectic on the beach!
