is it live or is it memorex?
do you suppose that's to keep the LE from folding in high winds like the 06 waroo's?

interesting that is the exact opposite of the WW Batwing. they have the center strut as the shortest with the outer struts longer. not sure what that convex LE will do. i believe i read that on the SS batwing type kite, the pointed LE was helpful for relaunching.
bambam, what say you?

Looks like they are simulating a bird's wing. Wind tunnel tests have shown this is a surprisingly efficient "design" Cool idea, wonder if it's a hit.

Hey Guys,
I will definitely give you NW guys the 411 on the new kites. Right now we are swamped with our Importer Meeting, so give me a week. If Naish had its way we would have kept the kites secret until September, but the logistics of having the Importers demo them has finally made it impossible to hide them any longer and the cat is outta bag.
Just know that they work amazing and all that weird looking geometry is there for some very relavant reasons. The overall look of the kite was the result of some cool new ideas and not done for just looks.
Kite on, Jon

Ah...importer meetings!
Fun....and a lot of work!
Good luck Jon....the dream of working in the kiteboarding industry can sometimes be just that. Working....in the kiteboarding industry.
Hope you are kiting as much as you can.
I am sure you are able to do so with your office location.
Imagine doing all that you do now....and then put yourself in San Diego with no wind.
That 'dream' of working in the kite industry became my no wind nightmare.
But that kite looks great!!!...and I was dreaming about that shape when I worked at LF.
The C- Gull kite.

PKH..you welcome for the pic...I guess I should have patented them (kidding of course).
They're all over now...well I guess thats why I posted them after we had the discssion on kiteforum earlier. I am no aero dynamic expert..but when you look at the kite inthe air it really makes sense. I guess Bambam can put it better into words than me, but the kite loops good..it is balls to the walls jumping...I had a spin in I think it was over 30 mph..I still had some problems timing my landings...the kite flew fast, and I was tweaking it too much in the air. That said..I was more than satisfied with both height and hang...but looking at the naish guys ride it ..me want new toy!!!
I also tested the relaunch..forst I couldn't get the kite to stay in the water so I had to slam it hard.....the it was even easier relancu then an SLE..I think much due the leading edge is partially above water, so when you pull the back line it just flips over on its side and swoops up.
It seemed to me that there is al ot going on gear wise..so much it is hard to remember it all...I did see the torch 4...but didn;t try it. Trying the helix / sigma series thingy was more than enough for me to decide I have to convince my wife I need more toys. An easy sell..she is too nice to me..I am always so happy then I must admit I do get exicted over new things (maybe the nerd in me..gadget person) especially when I get to try before I buy ..so take it for what it is worth.
A.

Oops, you leaked pictures of the new kite during the dealer meeting.
shame on you.
Now all the forum geeks are going to be asking about that kite when
the importers and dealers get back home.
I'm sure it's a great kite but I smell marketing with a little dash of
pimping thrown in.
That's not bad, but it is what it is.

You're so industry Hein! If I had dollar for every post you pimped your own gear, I could buy some.
