Here is his email philipbolek@hotmail.com and he often goes by the name of Konamax as his alias on the Maui news forums. He rents a place in a crappy part of Wailuku.

You can send him a personal message.

Distributing this persons email address will only invite harassment which will not help the cause.

Your implication that the place he lives and whether he rents or owns having some sort of relevance on this issue is absurd.

I would bet good money that there is more to this issue than one unreasonable beach user stopping perfectly reasonable and innocent kiteboarders.

swim zone A and B were off limits from what I was aware of due to FAA waiver.
swim zone C has the biggest impact to kiters
only thing I see that will be enforced now is the groins all the way to the swim beach upwind of pro pool.
kiting in between those groins is a little sketch anyways so not much is lost
the local kite instructors will be more affected than anyone else due to the students possibly ending up downwind in the groins.

Let the mokes have their beaches to BBQ and drink Heinekens. Their ancestors were there first.

You may have already seen this if you signed the petition, but it may be of interest to some.

Many thanks again for signing the petition of support for the proposed amendment to HAR 13-256-130 Kanaha Beach Park Swim Zones. On Wednesday December 4 we mailed the proposed amendment with all of the supporting documents (including all of your comments) to Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources-Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DLNR-DOBOR.) The amendment process is clearly defined in HAR 13-1-26. DLNR-DOBOR has 30 days to deny our submission or initiate public rulemaking procedures. Of course we are hoping for the latter, but it is not a foregone conclusion by any stretch.

You can see the exact proposal and find more information at http://kanahawatch.wordpress.com where we will also post updates as events unfold.

Now is the time for coalition building with all interested parties. In particular, if you have friends or family that fish, dive or canoe paddle at Kanaha, please seek them out and let them know that this is important to all of us. The best way to ensure a pono outcome is if all the user groups work together before any public hearing(s) so that a unified voice is heard. Please share our proposal and address any concerns, or contact us if there are concerns that you can't answer.

Signed! I ended up in swim section C many times while taking lessons there. I need to contact my instructor and see how he's doing.

I just talked to my instructor, Troy. He will be posting the latest soon. He states "The Dept of land and natural resources has 30 days to decide on opening rule making talks or keeping the rule in place".

And posted a link to the petition in our newsletter last month. Hope we don't lose this one.

Also glad we don;t have the localism attitude here in the Hood that the islands have.

I was thinking that while riding down at the cable park.
