Last fall I lost my board in really cold water & strong wind day and couldn't get upwind to it. I hadn't been having trouble before getting back to my board in normal wetsuits - so - my question is: does a baggy inhibit your ability to get upwind while body dragging? Extra bouyancy maybe? Is there something to compensate for this issue or is it just a matter of practicing upwind body drags?

Yes. The more drag on your body, the harder it is to go upwind. I find it difficult to get back to my board in my drysuit if the board is upside down and conditions are adverse.

One of these days I'm going to make a 2" foam pad to attach under the handle. Same function as a Go Joe, but not near so kooky. It would be a drysuit weather only thing... Just getting the board a bit out of the water should do the trick.
