I'm probably going to be busy in the evenings this weekend. When does the wind usually start to pick up? An early session would be my best bet.

Hood River always seems to be better the later it gets for me.

But man, you gotta stop working so much and being busy. I don't plan shit on my days off because I plan to always "busy" kiting. If it's a non-windy, rainy day, that's when I'm busy doing other stuff. Whatever you are doing cannot possibly be more important that kiting and free beer now can it?!

"busy in the evenings"... Dude, we gotta talk! Are you a kiter? Or, do you have a girlfriend/wife and wanna be a "kiter"!!!

Get out here and discover some real kiteboarding!

If it is in your skill set/comfort range, the main channel will add about 4 to 5 mph to your apparent wind speed, thus more power, with the river flowing like it is right now. It's like magic! However, the eddys are really wide right now as well, and be aware that in the eddy you experience the opposite effect--current and wind in same direction which robs your kite of wind. If you drop your kite in lighter wind and a powerful eddy it's very difficult to relaunch.

On the WA side there is a very powerful and wide eddie extending from the lower Hatchery to the White Salmon bridge. If you drop your kite at the bridge the fishermen will throw Busch Lite cans at you... Just jokin' (kinda...)

Got out too early at the event site on Satruday (10am) and had to fight the light wind too much. But Sunday I went to the marina at noon and got three solid 30 minute sessions in with short breaks in between. Happy days.

I forgot how much kiting takes you abs. Gotta have to hit that at the gym this week.
