I wonder if you held the hot tip of a soldering gun unto the head of the screw if it could generate enough heat to release the "red" Loctite? Supposed to release with heat.

I doubt a soldering iron would do too much... If anything, you'd probably start burning the epoxy in the board.

We used to use RED Loctite on our Honda's flywheel bolts, and they'd always be a bitch to get out, even after a year or more of racing (hard launching dropping the clutch at 8k - shit that makes a lot of heat). Maybe blue? I don't use anything on mine. The dual inserts/screws on the SS straps help a lot against loosening up over time.

Tried the soldering gun, didn't work. Was also real careful not to melt the board. The screws barely got hot, the heat is dissipated into the board too quickly. I'll jsut drill out the shank of the screws, and try to pry the remaining thread out, if that doens't work, I guess I'll be riding with a slightly wider stance this winter...
