Re: Kite size

The front runners last year were all on 11m or bigger kites. I took an 11m but I'd probably have taken a 13m if I had one. Wind at Stevenson was 15-20, 15-25 at Sandbar, with probably higher gusts around the Hatch.

I'm runnning with a 06 20m fuel no matter what the wind is... Shocked

Big kite.

If you take a bigger board or a directional, make sure it is fast. A surf board may get you through the light spots better, but they tend to be dogs in the windy areas.

Coat your upper portion of your lines with glass shavings so that you can cut through the competition. Shocked

The note about drinking plenty before starting is a good one.

This race is worth it just for the support that you get. If you have not signed up, do it!

Forecast update....

Saturday:
The main trough remains along the coast with SW flow aloft. Models keep the gradients weak but enough of a local scale gradient should develop to get Central Gorge wind into the 17-21 range. Eastern Gorge sites look lighter. Coastal sites are still light but the wind comes around to the NW in the 8-12 range. NW swell 4 feet.
