Yeah, the hat was very cool with the full throttle in it. It is the money shot for sure. Stringy you got that wide angle dialed. Also, really like Railgrabs Gorge Games night photo a lot.

Love Betty's stoke (and the flying hair!) ....

Thanks for showing us the second tier set too Rico.

All the entries were quite fabulous. Great job everyone.

Thumb's Up

Ethan - you definitely got robbed. Was 2nd place that "Gorge Games or Bust" one? Wasn't one of the shots of asphault with stickers on it? Your set looks great, love the skim shot and the lit up Gorge Games logo looks awesome!

Stringy - awesome shots, and especially amazing that you spent all day launching and landing kites for the comp and still managed to get a sick set of photos together. Also thanks for the extra decals! Stop being such a nice guy you are making the rest of us look bad! Very Happy

Stringy,
All those are killer shots. I think just focusing on kiting hurt you in the voting. I really dig the beer hat shot.

Agreed, however………
perhaps the voting also reflected the fact that nearly all of the riders had a "Bart Simpson in front of a camera” expression on thier face. Just a thought...

Where can one view the entire ‘photo decks’ for all of those who entered?

What does that mean? Lots of the riders are smiling, or straining, or have some blank expressions... is there some expression I need to keep in mind when I threaten photogs' lives with close passes??

This looks like Homer though - he keeps one of these handy Laughing

I'll present three examples that back my statment.

First however, again hats off for all the good work.
It's no easy or SIMPLE task taking the a magazine cover quality picture
After a massing all the gear and mastering the techniques & skills required to nail that level of quality, a simple expression can turn a cover quality picture into one for the satire rags. Enjoy.

Yup, glad you asked... Go with an expression similar to that of "Exhitbit D"

glad you all liked the shots.
I thought the entire team did a great job "posing" with product placement.
It was pretty difficult to get all the major sponsors work in those shots. I was fortunate to have the beer helmet and it worked out great as more of a gag effect.
again great work to all who contributed and rode!
JP maybe you could get in on some of that action at next weekend's contest.
there will be another photo contest at next week's BOTG festival.
No product placement, just promoting the sport of kiteboarding more than anything.
Our good friends at Kiteboarding Magazine will be looking at publishing some really great shots from that weekend's activities.
See you there!

Like to however I’ll be at Timberline next weekend.

Perhaps the positive feedback in this thread will find itself into your future results. Very Happy

When I got over to the WS bridge at about 6:45am lit on an 8m the morning of the the last day of kiteboarding events and saw Henry over there with Tucker, I knew it was a done deal. I tried to get in the way as best as possible but it was too late. You all got up early and scored!

Well deserved and very well done Henry. There's a lot more effort into your work than the majority know. Congratulations and see you this weekend for some of the best footage of the year. Let the throw downs begin! Twisted Evil

Wally -

I think that describes it best, thanks for keeping the good vibes goin! Henry has a good eye but he also works his butt off. Wait till you guys see some of his GG shots (in the mags Wink ) ... He was in the water for the entire freestyle comp (11am-3pm) with the water housing taking shots.

BTW, Nicole made that Saturday morning 6am start time too... Which for anyone who knows her you know that is insane! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Congrats again to all the teams, the contest was super fun!
