Talked to someone today who said a railroad cop in an unmarked black SUV parked next to her and said he would fine anyone $100 for crossing the RR tracks at Lyle.

Strangely he didn't seem to stay around to make good on his threat.

Lameness.

Guess we have to start riggin' up top, then boosting off the cliff (from the north side of the tracks).

I'm thinking the rest stop on the right just before you get to Lyle would be great. There's a small fence to hop, but then it's just a short 70ft vertical drop to the water. That would be a fun way to start a sesh Smile

the wind is super clean right through there too so i bet you can lay out a nice floaty with a couple kite loops and land smoothly...half way to the spit.

that would suck if he showed up waiting at the tracks at the end of your session, as you are tying to get back across the tracks to your car.

Lots of railroad activity yesterday, track maintenance, spraying weed killer and stuff.

On another note, who's riding with paint ball mask?

Last time I checked, RR employees weren't deputized so they can't just write you a ticket. Can you write someone a ticket for walking across property you own? No, you can't. You can call the cops and wait for them to show up, and have them write a ticket.

I'm not saying blow the guy off or be rude to him but I wouldn't worry about people handing out tickets.

That dude came by and I thought he was going to eat me. Is he massively disfigured or just trying to hide his super-secret identity.

Don't know who did it, but last night when we left a black SUV had a ticket on its windshield.

I talked to him at the spit, he said he wears it to keep the spray out of his face.

That's Man (aka skywalker on the forum). I asked him about it yesterday too, and he said it's for sun protection and he's tired of putting on sunscreen all the time. I know what he means because even the waterproof stuff comes of quickly and I got burnt yesterday.

It looks pretty intimidating and badass (like he's going into battle). But it's misleading because he's the nicest guy you will ever meet on a kite beach and he's always smiling and never agro.

I am totally going to pimp some sunscreen for a minute. Being fair skinned I have tried every sun screen ever made. Arla gave me some last year to try and it works awesome it's called Sol. It's the first product I have used that actually works well on me.

Pepi is the only one in HR that carries it and GI joes in PDX carries it. Get the one that has a surfer on it and I think its SPF 35. All this pimping of a product I should buy stocks in the company or something.

That's funny Mann wears a paint ball mask I have to see that Very Happy

How is that stuff when it gets washed into your eyes Nicole? I've been using Chapstick with sunscreen on the top half of my face... Sounds stupid, I know. But it doesn't sting when it gets in your eyes.

Wikapedia says:

"The BNSF Police Department is the law enforcement agency of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF). Its headquarters is situated in Fort Worth, Texas.

[edit] Jurisdiction

BNSF maintains a functioning police department staffed with officers given the title of Special Agent with jurisdiction over crimes against the railroad. Like most railroad police, its primary jurisdiction is unconventional, consisting of 34,000 miles of track in 25 western U.S. States. Railroad police are certified state law enforcement officers, authorized under federal law, to operate as such in any state that allows railroad police authority under state law.

BNSF Special Agents may have investigative and arrest powers both on and off railroad property if authorized by the state in which are they are working. They carry interstate authority as provided by federal law (Title 49, USC, Section 28101.) This authority means that if railroad police are commissioned in one state, they can work in another, if that state has authorized railroad police, however to the limit allowed by the state they are in.

Special Agents typically investigate major incidents such as derailments, sabotage, grade crossing accidents and hazardous material accidents and minor issues such as trespassing on the railroad right of way, vandalism/graffiti, and theft of company property or customer product.

Special Agents often coordinate and liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement on issues concerning the railroad and are dispatched nationally through BNSF Headquarters in Fort Worth, TX."
