Okay guys looking for some ideas here... cafepress offers up a bunch of cool (and some useless) products that I can put whatever graphics I want on. For now I have chosen just to slap the nwkite.com logo on a bunch of items (mostly clothing), but it certainly doesn't need to stop there.
We had some ideas running in the T-Shirt thread a few months back:
http://www.nwkite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=509
But mind you because of cafepress this can go way beyond just t-shirts:
- Posters
- Calendars
- Mugs
- License plate frames
- Little bears to give to your kite b... er significant other.
The calendar is an exciting prospect, imagine a wall calendar featuring only local spots and riders, with your submitted photos! (Note: For these items there would be no commission charged, just whatever it cost to have the calendar made and shipped. It also would only be done at the permission of the photographer.)
Btw, there really isn't any motive in this for me other than finding new ways to spread the stoke and let us make this sport into what we want it. Yes I do like the idea of expanding the nwkite.com branding, but I am just not going to kid myself into thinking this can't be any more than a hobby. At this point everything I might get from this stuff is just being re-invested back into it.
I appreciate any feedback anyone has, thanks!
(p.s. the mountain was pretty sick today, lots of snow including some freshies. it was a little warm in the morning but, it never rained, in fact it snowed all day.) |

Okay I created a "Message" gear section for all of our ideas, here's a couple I put together so far:
"it's windy here" / northwest kiteboarding
Slither's "barge bait" / nwkite.com (barge bait is on the back)
"local" / nwkite.com (hard to see in pic but the columbia river is laid in behind the local text)
I can do alternate colors or shirt styles (like long sleeves or hoodies), so let me know if you are interested in something like that.
Also some basic nwkite.com stuff:
nwkite.com baseball jersey
nwkite.com mousepad
Keep the design ideas coming! |

Bruce, I like the latin version... which style T shirt would you like to see it on? |

That's great! I am getting one - maybe one of a kind!
Are you going to set it up so buyers can choose a slogan and pick what they want it on or is that impractical? At least choice of color of T? _________________ Bruce |

Well mostly I did yours because I thought it was a cool idea. If you guys want totally custom you could always go straight to Cafepress or t-shirts.com and do one up yourself.
Cafepress is sweet because there is no up front fee for me and I don't have to do any shipping work or anything. Downside is my commission is like $2 bucks on a $15 t-shirt. Maybe if one shirt became popular I could have a bunch made, but I doubt that'll happen.
For now its more fun to have lots of designs I think.
Anyway, bring on more ideas! I'm bored. |
