I did it last year after kiting for 3 months. It was rough on a twin-tip. Learn to ride backwards: put the kite on the opposite side of the window you would normally put it) and with a big enough kite it will allow you to edge while going straight downwind. This is FAR more relaxing. I didn't figure this out until the last couple miles of the race last year.

dude... she's joshing ya... holly's a ripper.

i just got an email saying the spots were limited.
why is that? is it the issue with the launch? (too many people to get into the water?)
just curious.

anyway we can get slingshot to put the air mattress dock back in for the event?

Last year the Blowout had 62 participants and were not able to get everybody on the water in time for the start.

This year we are going to limit the event to 100 participants. In an effort to get everybody on the water we are going to launch the competitor division first, followed by the sportsmen riders division.

During the skippers meeting I will outline how we are going to get everybody on the water in a save and timly maner.

See you on the water

does anyone think it odd that the photo on the poster has a liquid force kite while LF isn't a sponsor?

This is a CGKA event with Slingshot as our title sponsor.

Additional sponsors include:
New Wind
Kite the Gorge
Gorge Performance
Windance
2nd Wind
Dakine
Big Winds
nwKite.com
North Kites

Even if you don’t fly a Slingshot kite we will let you participate in the event. Thumb's Up
Its more about getting together with 100 of closest kite buddy’s and having a good time, ripen the overhead swell in the narrows to balls out hauling ass past Viento.
Do your self a favor and dont miss this event, it’s going to be the best one of the season.

I know that this might be a silly question to ask since the BOG is running this weekend, but since I am participating in both the Kite and the Windsurf Blowout, I was wondering.

Is anyone out there competing in both the Windsurf Blowout this weekend and then the Kite Blowout next weekend?

Pepi
