There are a lot of couches here: http://portland.craigslist.org/search/zip?query=couch&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max
Can someone please pick up a couple of them and bring them to Stevenson this week?
PLEASE!

Gary, Dave and I will be there all day setting up....maybe squeezing in a session too.

When the wind starts, the contest is on. Official stickers will be handed out to the riders on Friday.

If your photos are ready, we will have a projector on up at the Tiki Party. Just bring them on a media card and carol will fire up her "laptop on steroids".

Well, I'll bring my laptop, so I'll try to grab time in between shooting and Tiki to find some keepers!

I just got word that Stringy will be bringing down an inflatable slider. A huge Thank You needs to go out to Darren Wiley for letting us use this slider and to Stringy for making it happen.

here is a shot of what the slider looks like.

it is an inflatable so we may have an issue with fins if they are sharp. I think we will review it once it is setup to determine how, where, and who will hit it.
It has a double tube system that guides along the top center of the yellow section.

Spike,

The launch will be extremely congested with spectators and participants. If you really want to kite at Stevenson on Saturday, enter the contest. Sorry, but that is all we can offer. The place is just not big enough.

I'll give the boat launch a shot, toss the kite in the water and swim out. Don't worry, I wouldn't get in the way of the contest. If the boat launch doesnt work, I'll just stay on land and watch the show.

Slider looks sweet! How long is it? Is it gonna be available for anyone to session or just part of the contest?

not sure if the boat launch is appropriate for drift launching.
that huge black breaker is out there and it looks pretty knarly to get your gear caught on.

should be fun there whether on the water or land.
Unless you want attention, Friday's riding is def not the place to hang out.
the traffic on the water will be at an all time high.

I suggest those who might want to free ride, spend a little bit more in gas to drive to the sandbar.
If you can go without riding for the afternoon, stay at stevie and support one of the longest running kiteboarding events in the gorge.

on the slider, I'm waiting to hear back from lloyd or forrest on some slider support.
I'll bring it down either thursday night or friday morning. Important issues with the slider will be obviously position on the water.
we'll want to position it in a safe and efficient location that still allows riders to have a good lane for the main demonstration area.

Spike, that would be a great show!! Just don't forget the purple bike helmet. For those of you who have never attended the BOG contest, you can pretty much forget about trying to launch if your not in the contest. It is soooo crowded.

The slider looks like a lot of fun and should be great for riders and photos on friday. Please keep it out of the contest area on Saturday as it is not going to be a part of the contest format.

Thanks,
Gary

Hey there,

I was wondering if you need any assistance with food. I'm more than happy to pick-up food and bring it to Stevenson on Friday. I can go to Costco tomorrow, so just let me know if you need anything! I would have brought leftovers from GG, but we were wiped-out:-)

Talk to you later,
Janet (boarderchick)
