That is so crazy that the new Naish kite design chemically alters the air molecules as it passes through… 
Must be that kite shape and genetically altered materials...

I think North invented that. If you haven't heard, North invented everything that has to do with kiting... bridles, one pump, you name it

At any rate, is the hype crap starting already? I've got new rev's, I'm not even going to demo another kite for at least 2 years. If there are better kites, I don't even want to know at this point.

Nice shots! Mark, do have an idea when more info on changes will be available? I REALLY like my Cult & curious to see what direction they'll go with the new model... (Joannes Cult actually, but she lets me use it so far...  )

I sure hope Naish isn't planning on selling the '09 kites before about November. Not even halfway through '08 and they're starting to talk about the '09 kites? This is worse than the big automakers! 
Do we all need to change our calendars to a fiscal setting where July 1 = the new year??? WTH is up with the marketing guys? Can't they read a calendar?

I am surprised that there aren't more pics out there,,lots of guys taking pics and filming....
Btw I got to try the kites....yay...tried the 7-8-9 Helix, and 7.5 and 9 Cult....in addition I got a sample a variety of different boards!!!!
The Helix is totally different from last year...much more pronounced arc, lower aspect, direct connection on the backlines....I am so stoked to try it waves....Phil..I remember you said you did not like the looping on the helix last year...you should try it this year. I have one pic of someone looping it...didn't get the rider though...
Mark; I also heard something about a huge SUP lineup? Any news there?
TonyB: does it really matter what number they put on it? I mean Toyota started selling some of their 09's in February..it is just the next version....I was asking around about launch dates, but no one gave me a clear answer...I think the Torch and Cults were supposed to be first out...then the Helixes...

The Cult is similar to the 08 one..the wing tips are pulled back a little, it is a little tighter in turning and handling, but similar in feel to the 08. I did not ride it for a long time though...I think the turning has improved quite a bit...but otherwise the usual improvements, a little better on everything. The looping is more even in the pull, and I think the bridle is smaller....t is a little hard to remember and distinguish all the impressions....The cult comes in two versions..I don't think they are very different..one with a one pump system, and one without.
The bar is really nice. A better more tight grip, and there is a heavy duty swivel on it, bigger floaters, but otherwise the same as last year.
Also I must say I am so stoked about the Helix. I think this is a winner...for me at least...also the new Thorn FC (full carbon) is definitely a winner...as far as I saw that board comes in two versions one with full carbon and one more similar to last years...but one CM longer for the same width...
The new surfboard lineup is pretty much kick ass...except I think they dropped the 6'1'' I like so much..there was a 6.0 quad that was nice, and a GUN with a beautiful wood finish...

Rumour has it the SUP's and Surfboards will be "woodies" at least with wood laminate and clear cote over top. Should look very cool. When I come across some pics I will post.
