I was thinking aobut taking scuba lessons this summer, and then the idea of scubadiving with a kite came to mind: underwater body dragging! looks liek somebody beat me to the idea. that thing is definately NOT gay.

I want to be around when they first try to launch a kite attached to that thing.

Looks great, I bet they will sell at least two of them if it goes to market.

Reminds me of Gary Efferding's kite kayak designed and tested in 2000;

Will Brady, over dinner last week, was telling us that they are going out with mask and snorkles and using the kites to power around. He said it was a kick when you dive down and the kite powers you through the water. Awesme way to see lots of fish and stuff.

The only problem was that you have no clue that anyone else is near you as you are too busy looking at fish and never check where everyone else is. So a higher probability of crashing into others. He said it is kinda funny watching all the kiters wearing masks and snorkles while kiting.

this would be good for a lake, or area without big surf. I doubt they intend to use it in double overhead surf. But who knows. 20 years ago nobody thought anybody would ever control a kite on the water that pull you 40ft into the air on a jump. I could see this thing going through the surf like a dolphin jumping out of the water infront of a boat.

my point was that when your kite lines get disturbed by fast moving water, it affects the kite...so if you're going under water, and through waves, your kite isn't going to just sit there.
