i think you need one of these to really do it right http://www.red.com/
i dont think we are going to see it used on kiting stuff any time soon but 100 progressive frames per second at about 5 times the resolution of normal HD would be just about the most insane footage possible |

JP's boss said editing Redcam footage in 4K is killer, and they have psycho computers (they just shot a commercial the other week with one)!
We just now got done building a 35mm adapter for JP's bro's DVX. They're shooting a music video this weekend, so it should be pretty cool.
P.S. - Your homie Ryan is supposed to be getting a Red too!
P.P.S. - Kraemer, you sure the 200A has 1/2" sensors? I hadn't heard that. |

24p is great for lifestyle footage...gives a good cadence and eliminates the 'reality' feel of video. 24p is a storytelling medium...30i and above is a reality medium. That's why in a lot of snowboarding films they'll shoot interviews and off mountain shiz in 24p and then switch to a higher frame rate for riding. It's a style thing...to each their own.
As far as solid state and hard drive cams, you take the same risk of breaking something as with tape. For the money, I would save money and skip solid state, go with tape, but get a better overall camera (larger chips, more features) _________________ Order your copy of Present Tense today at http://cineaptic.bigcartel.com/product/present-tense-dvd |

| I don't know if there are any displays for 4k. Figure it'd have to be a lot crazier since 4k is slightly bigger than 2 times (twice as tall, twice as wide) standard full-HD (1920/1080). |
