talked with one of the organizers of the new waterfront park and it was noted that the new park is city run not port operated. he said the city has made no restrictions to windsurfers or kiters. so it seems that launching could occur there, although i dont know if there is an place to launch kites. i guess we could land our kited there. is it true there is a ramp down to the water on the east side of the park? not sure is is worth trying to test the city on this. the sandy launch is just a short walk away.

The sandbar is huge and we should be demanding bathrooms, running water, electricity for an air compressor, and more parking at the sandbar. Lets focus on the Sandbar cause that's our home. Kites dry nicely on the sand just downwind of the brush. Your ligaments will thank you for the warm-up walk to the water's edge.
