Fri Apr 25, 2008 4:08 am Somebody Broke Into My House!!!! |
|
|
Last night I got home after work and walked into my house. My dog ran past me, but I thought nothing of it. As I reached my kitchen I noticed my bike was not on the back porch, the kitchen door was ajar, I lock it daily, and I knew that something was not right. As my gut went stone cold my mind was screaming about the loss of my bike. As I became aware that some mother!@#$!er had decided to take it I thought about my LCD 37" flat TV. I stood in the kitchen eyes wide open restraining myself from looking into the living room knowing that the mother@#$%er probably took that for sure. As my head rotated to take in the view I realized my Dog was not around. Yep the tv was gone as was my xbox360 and some games: COD4, Turok, and Army of 2. I called Scout and he came and then I decided to call 911 thinking that this mother@$%er could still be in the house. I decided to go downstairs to look in the garrage. As I headed down the stairs I noticed that my bike was leaning against what looked to be a car cover my wife uses on her rig. This mass turned out to be my tv. The mother@#$%er had staged the tv, bike, a carpet cleaner, and another bike for later pickup. It looked like the mother@#$%er had just gone shopping in my house. It's possible that I interrupted the mother@#$%er's spree.
After calling the Police and getting the case number I was tired bummed and felt violated. This @#$% @#$% mother@#$%er had walked through my house and shopped through my stuff like a wal-mart. I realized that it could have been worse but the thought of actually walking in on the mother@#$%ing not-your-F-ing home shopping mother@#$%er in real life presents some interesting possible scenario's that to be honest provided me with some visceral fantasy WWE RAw Wrestling moments. Unfortunately and maybe actually walking in on the mother@$#%er may have ended in a not so good outcome, but it's still fun to think about.
My thoughts, now a day wiser, have returned to reality of paying a deductible and restocking my home with the things that said mother@#$%er removed without approval. The funny thing is that what really bothers me is not the missing xbox360, the 3 games, the fisher sugar 3 bike my wife loved, my bosch drill, my other drill, my handyman tool bag with my favorite tape measure, my calipers, my squre, my favorite utility knife, my file, and leatherman that Grandad gave me. This mother@#$%er packed his assorted selected items into my Slingshot Turbo Diesel 2, 7 meter kite bag. What really burns is that the mother@#$%er took the kite bag and stuffed it with his newly acquired items and forgot to take the kite.
I'm writing this because I want to sound off and tell you to be careful this summer with your home. Take a look at your security as gas prices are on the rise and so will crime increase as folks struggle to fill their tanks with gas. And the last thing you want to do is supply some dumb mother#$@%er with a shopping spree in your home and have this said mother@#$%er ride off on your Princesses bike wearing your kitebag like a backpack full of things that have sentimental value and much more practical use.
Lock your doors, take a look at your security and be safe.

I am sorry to hear about your break in. Our place in White Salmon was broken in to in Feb right before our Maui trip. Luckly they didn't get to much just my laptop, a snowboard, a camera and my fav backback.
It's not really the stuff that pissed me off it was the fact that someone was in my place makes you feel so violated for sure. |

Dude that sucks and must just feel really crappy. Sounds like you almost walked in on him/her/them. Some folks are scum!
A couple years ago my roomate kept having his bicycle stolen. Then one day I walk into my vinal carport and found a scumbag crouching behind my bicycles which were locked. After a two block run I put the guy down on the ground in the middle of the road and then stood over him seething until the cops showed. He had a warrant so they took him away for that. Now I have security, cameras, and outside motion detectors because unfortunately this crap happens too often.
Citizens Arrest is legal in Oregon just make sure you keep the high ground.

Last summer we had a pressure washer stolen out of the front yard while it was cooling down. My mom was inside painting ~20ft away & it was broad daylight. Just pull up in the Methmobile, and load it in! Gotta love it!
Does homeowner's cover that? |

Yup crime is on the rise down by the river as well. Robbery, Rape and Gas Siphoning. I've got an older style cantilever garrage. I'm thinking the !@#$ pulled really hard and slid under the door. Got in the house and then started taking. The Police have been really great taking finger prints and patrolling the area more frequently. I've got a hunch that it's a kid and he's at home rocking my xbox360. I contact GameOpoly and any place that might pay for the games. I also locked the hell out of my house this am. I'm thinking about installing motion detecto lights and maybe getting a wild wolf to put in the house while I'm away. _________________ Look for the fat guy doing tricks on a surfboard. I would recommend for anyone to put an alarm in your house. Especially with all the recent crime in the gorge, if you have a house out there and don't stay there full time it is worth the investment. We just got one put in at our place in Rowena.
Dogs are hit or miss. Kodiak was a good protector. I had a friend a few years back sneak in my back patio when it was dark to play a prank on me. Kodiak jumped all over him. Unfortunately he is no longer with us and my other two dogs would sooner lick your face off then attack you.... _________________ http://www.active.com/donate/kb4c2008/kodiak |

Tony's flying today so stuck with the screaming kids in the airport where the parents can't discipline them. So we want to invent the "The Smacker".
Put in your $1, stand the offender on the machine, dial in the person's weight, age, height, and # of previous offenses and push the button to let er rip. It would deliver the exact amount of allowable smack to shut them up.
Could be modified for adults who break into your house too!
PS - that stinks about your break in.
There was a gas station attendent who got hit yesterday trying to stop another lady from steeling $100 in gas. A third person witnessed the event, followed and then ran their car into the criminal lady's car and detained her till the cops arrived.
May need lots of smackers! |
