Thanks to everybody that put on this event. The 10'6" with the decking was nice. I wanna see how they surf.

It would be nice to pad one end of the paddle so you could joust with other paddlers Smile

for those of you who liked/tried this, I would highly recommend you come out to the coast this summer on a 'small swell' day... it is way more fun to play in the waves! I rented 2 SUPs from Tim at the Oregon Surf shop in LC and got my wife out on one (who is terrified of the ocean). We had such a good time, she turned out to be a natural on the big board, and she has been asking me about buying one.

we rented a 12 footer and something more along the 8-9' range this past saturday. The smaller board was a lot harder to stand on, but settled out after you got it paddling. It was WAY more fun in the waves though... it made the 12 footer feel like...well a 12 footer.

It looks like they have a bunch of boards at the Shop, so take a no-wind day and head out!

I'm with you. Since I've been surfing since I was 13, I don't see much of an appeal for me. Yes, being out on the water is great, and it's probably great for people that have never surfed, but I've already got enough sports that I don't have enough time to do, to add another one.
