The weather looks like its going to be dry - and the water is warming up. Any guesses on if there is going to be wind this weekend? Would love to start the season!!!

Rooster definitely looks like it's going to Go off! Very Happy Airnet is calling for a rapid drop in wind at about 2:00, so I'm thinking of hitting it at 10:30 or 1100 at the latest. Unfortunately, the warm weather almost guarantees an infestation of the VS... Shocked What time is everybody thinking of getting there? Strength in numbers and all that.

Mark, you had said Noon in an earlier post, you think maybe earlier with the winds dying early?

my new 11m waroo came today-- it was a replacement from one that got stolen--the renter's insurance paid for it, that was a good investment. I was thinking of RR, the VS have been out early this year, so this Sat they should be swarming. Does anyone have any coastal predictions? It didn't look to great from what I saw, but I'd love to get out there.

Judging by the water level off 192nd, I'd guess that the volleyball courts are underwater, but the spot 1/4 mile upriver should be good... Just a guess though.

Anybody ever had any issues with parking close to that spot on the side of the freeway - sort of like the fisherman do?

Well I'm headed out to the beach tomorrow with girlfriend (and book, hers) in tow to see about the wind.

Probably gonna be landboarding though, any coasties want to meet up? Pac. City, Lincoln, where ever.

not much happening at the coast this weekend with the wind. I'll be at PC, but it's looking like maybe just some surfing...even those conditions won't be great.

Pressure maps are revealling a potentially killer weekend.

Northerlies at Sauvies today.

Easterlies for sure Saturday morning, petering out. There will be lots of pressure at dawn (8mB easterly .24 between pendleton and portland). HV to RR, possibly good downwinders from hv-stev and dp-rr

Sunday the thermal seams to move east of the cascades, for what apperas to be strong westerlies. (10mB westerly .30 between portland and pendleton.

If Saturdays temps in P-town reach near record highs, you can bet that the thermal shifts east and sucks a marine layer in to the west side, generating Classic Gorge conditions, where the thunderstorms develop will dictate best locations.
