				| Is there any connection between a good snow season and then following there is a good wind season? I was just wondering - I haven't been in the NW long enough to figure out a pattern. |

Ah come on man - you don't know what that is? Its my new electric snowboard!! Hahaha!! I got it from the Spike's post "OT inventions too gay for kiters" The idea of cruising around at like 3 mph on a flat surface and actually paying money for the contraption made me laugh |

Just wanna say that snowkiting was everything I imagined it to be and better. I didn't really jump or do unhooked tricks using the kite for lift but I did a bunch of shit involving the new surface... Little steep kickers were the shit. Took like 10 minutes to build, but it was like having a wave face to pop off of. Came really close to landing a flat frontside 360s with little effort and the falls didn't hurt at all. Though getting up off the flat ground with a snowboard and harness attached was incredibly hard.

Imagine having a big quarter pipe with the wind hitting it side off? You could do some sick top and bottom turns on that. We just need a snowcat to build it next year in Montana!

Anyway, moral of the story, for all of you who haven't snowkited before, the effort to get out and do it is WORTH IT! |

Not yet man. I actually quit my job a couple of weeks ago (they were total dicks) - I was going to take several months off and ski - snowboard - snowkite - drink beers - hang out with the ladies - so on and so forth. However, as soon as I quit I was offered a new position with someone I used to work with - the job is a temporary position - but was too good to pass up.

but anyways - I need to get some of that snow action - SOON!! I'm like ready to blow my wad every time I see people post snow kite pictures. A |

are you talking about north winds on the coast? I don't think I have witnessed a bad wind season yet if you figure gorge + coast... its always windy somewhere, state wide skunkage only happens like once a summer.

good snow might mean high water levels and lots of current, which can be good for kiting or bad depending on the location. |

When I am talking about "good" and "bad" season for wind - I am speaking in relative terms. For example, last summer I rode a 13M C kite most of the season in the gorge while the year before I was riding a 10M C Kite most of the time - (no I didn't gain any weight). So when I am saying a good year vs. a bad year - I am speaking in relative terms based on previous years. We have had a pretty sweet snow season - does this mean that the winds for summer are going to be strong? Weak? Or is there no connection? |

Forrest, no need to build a quarterpipe. Rode some cornices in Idaho with the wind blowing uphill. They essentially act like a quarterpipe. You can slash them all you want and jump off the top, float over the drop, and then land back on top. Snowkiting still has a long way to go in terms of finding all the good terrain out there, but what I've seen so far has blown my mind. Rails and kickers are super fun too. It's basically everything you can do on a snowboard with a kite to sweeten the deal. Whether you're a park rat or a big mountain ripper you'll find something to do.
