Shy et al,

Looking for a little help as I'm getting closer to buying kites for '08.

So, I think I'm leaning more towards the REV now. Have been riding 15-11-7 Fuel combo for a few years. Thinking 13 - 9 REV will be enough. Maybe add a 7m if needed. Typically we don't get wind over 30mph often where I ride. Curious if anyone here knows of someone who was a Fuel rider who made the transition to REVs and is/was unhappy about it? I think we're I'm at, as long as I can unhook a bit and also get more height, range and forgiveness (over the Fuel), then the REV is for me.

Also wondering about the Probar? Shy, any word? Can you speculate whether the probar will work with the REV?

Thanks for your input. Wink
-Jim

I'm not going to be any help, but going from FUELs to REVs was the best thing for me. Definately think it helps with the progression. And if it rarely blows over 30, you'll be fine with the 9m. I like the 7 in 35-40 and I'm ~145.

Yeah, what Adam said. I don't have loads of time on either kite but I will say that even though I really dig my 13m fuel, the Rev just gives you more control and depower without feeling like a bow kite. Plus, the 4 line is less hassle than the 5 line fuel.

If its gusty where you kite, I would definitely demo a Rev, if not, save your money for something else.

The great thing about the REV is that the feel and power is very close to the feel and power of the Fuel but with more range in both low end and high end, faster, more boost, 4 line simplicity and 4 line below the bar safety!

Basically the Rev will be the best bang for you buck!

Think Octane+FUEL+T2=REV

The Fuel is great, but nowadays you want more time on the water with one kite and the Rev is going to make that happen for you. Progression wise you will have a kite that relaunches in a heart beat, so you won't be so wary when it comes to pulling new moves and taking a digger.

The probar won't be in production till late 08 early 09 and who knows if it will be able to work on a REV; besides the bar that comes with the REV is the BEST overall bar on the market!

Waiting for the Ruben collection to come down the pipe. PRO BOARD PRO KITE PRO BAR= LENT10 Collect10

Opps i might have let the cat out of the bag... Shocked

Coolio, thank you for the advice.

If I can get a red 13 such as posted above and a grey and white 9 from the Youtube video I will be very happy. Don't send any pink and yellow REVs to the Northeast please.

It's cold here as well, but if I get new gear, then it'll force me to ride. So that is the plan....

Thanks again...08 season is right around the corner... Wink

This is just a guess, but I will say it is somewhere on the east coast of Australia. Looks like a cream dream right now coming from the soggy NW.

I too wanted the black/grey/white REVs, but so far none have come through the production batches... at least from what I've seen.

Got lucky when I picked mine up, though I was scared as hell of the ones with a red or green LEADING EDGES. Figured it'd be like the '07 FUELs, but I wanted something different than the fairly common black/green/yellow, so I chose a red/black/light grey which I now like a lot.

Don't be scared of the colored LEs, it's only on the top side. The main, inner side of the LE is still BLACK, thank God. Ryan's green 9 looks pretty cool too.

imagine replacing the black on the green kite with dark/charcoal grey............we've had a few of those down my beach and they are the dogs do-daa's.
We have one of the red and black ones too.
My 9m is dark blue/light blue and that deep red.....looks pretty good too.
My 11 is the green and yellow that we've all seen and my 13m is red and yellow and black.

Just looked again and that 9m is the dark grey one Shocked
