easterly from swell city all the way to clatsop spit! corbett has got a N reading, but troutdale and stevenson are both blowing east so its probably just the sensor being weird. pressure differentials increasing.

see you guys out there.

You guys are nuts to carry a slider out there from the parking lot. lol

This is the Wunderground forecast for Troutdale...
"Thursday
Mostly cloudy. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs around 60. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Near The Gorge...gusts to 25 mph in the afternoon."

11:55PM update:
It's NOT very windy!

Did some one say "Slider"....?
Well shit man,,,Chanson and some of the P-Town crew have one sitting in the drive way...It's not no 100 foot slider but it would still be pretty sick to still hit it...
It's pretty stiff and would hold up to extreme punishment...It's not too heavy but I still think it would be nice to have at least 4 guys carry it...
Rooster has been an option but I agree with Taku...It's a hella of a shit-long-ass way to carry it down there...And whose going to carry it back..? It's a state park and I'm sure someone might get in trouble if we live it there....Regardless, we are still hoping Lyle might be the ticket...Maybe this weekend...who knows...No promises this time of year...

Thanks for the report... might head out in a bit! Was it solid 9m or light in the lulls?

Rode the 9m from a bit at first, then it was just too much so switched to 7m. Sweet power on that.

GENE! Respect for those loops man. They were all big but I saw one when you were in the channel going towards Washington. Shocked

Haha, thanks Phil. You and Henry had some nice airs yourself. Yeah, I was just getting dialed in on the 8m doing those loops. It's a bit slower than the 6m so it took some practice, but I think I got it after a while.

We had a great turnout with five of us riding. Glad you guys could make it. It was definitely better than last time. Perfectly lit on an 8m with good company and the sun even came out for a bit Cool. The steadiest wind was 7:30-8:30 and was actually pretty nice.

After 9am as Nak and I were leaving it got gustier with some strong winds at times and lulls at other times. Should be nice for a while though in case anyone can hit it later.

Nak mentioned tomorrow might also be East although a bit lighter forecast. Anyone up for round three Smile?

This morning you were lit on an 8m? The RR sensor was only showing ESE 12 then...now it's straight E at 17....

Think I'll try for a lunch sesh...hope I don't get blown away!

Shocked

Definitely some nice KL Gene. I was thinking, man, I should just try and bust some of them out, then I was thinking, man I got that conference call at 10:00, my wife is going out of town this weekend....

when did I become such a pussy?

Yeah, that sensor is whack. I think you gotta add like 10mph to the gusts to get an idea of what's going on. I think its real purpose is to tell you the wind direction. Basically if it's East and is gusting into double digits it's probably decently windy on the water.

Right about the time you started thinking Laughing

Nah, just messing. Seriously though the current conditions are probably not the best for doing shit you're not comfortable with. Wouldn't wanna end up floating in the river like that guy yesterday. Although the water is warmer than the air today so maybe you're better off in the water.

Too bad I missed the early bus. Noon was good too. Water level was a bit higher than in the past month. Sand Island was completely covered...

The wind was still good! I was on the 9 yarga. Gman was makin' the 5 work on his small board-- Kataku and Tucker were on 7 Rev's. (When we came in to rooster around 2:00 I landed someones "large" c-kite. It was a blue--I thought it was a 10 or 12m.)
