Anyone going to try Rooster today? I was planning on taking my boat from Camas up to Rooster today, but the wind is already pretty strong at Troutdale. I'm not sure what the swell will be like today.

Is it better at rooster than near the airport or troutdale? I saw how windy the airport was yesterday. I've never kited any of those places but am in for a session today. Anybody got any recomendations?

As far as I know, Troutdale is boat access only? I've not kited the PDX airport, but I know other guys have. Rooster has some great conditions, but it can get nuked out. I don't think that will happen today, but my little Bayliner can only handle so much swell...

You'll probably get the best wind at RR. The airport can work, but the beach is shitty (all kinds of shit to cut your feet/kite on) and it'll generally be lighter.

I compare the Ikitesurf forcast:

"Gorge wind remains easterly overnight and increases steadily into the 18-22 range. Chance they will surge into the 22-26 range late AM, relaxing into the PM. "

and the airnet forecast for Troutdale:

http://usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?sta=KTTD&model=eta&state=OR&Submit=Change+Location

I'm going to head out about 10 or 10:30 by boat...

Cock-a-doodle-do! I think it might lighten up too much by 4-5. I'm gonna take an extended lunch around 11ish and hit it for a power hour!

--Boosted higher than ever before with the Y9. ---
I Saw Felix but did not stop to chat due to the fact I was on a limited time excursion. (Extended Lunchhour). My guess is it will hold up until the eve.

It was still alive at 5 ! Couldn't ask for better 12m wind. Jake, Blake and Bonetti were tearing it up! Hopefully we'll get a bunch more days like this down the road! (This seattle based dude was there all day riding like a rockstar--sorry I forgot his name but he was boosting 50' easy. He was on a 7 Fuel and then a 10 Eclipse) Anyone remember?

Yep...perfect late 12m wind. Kraemer hits it for lunch and dinner and pulls a nice double shot Monday. The Seattle guy is camping out tonight and I think his name is Harold or Wally. He's a cool guy so hopefully it's on tomorrow. If so see you guys out there.
