i just bought a Slingshot fuse. It's a 149, and is now my favorite board. It's a directional, but you can ride it like a twin tip. It's good and flexy, giving you great pop, and also sweet surfy turns.

would the fuse work for my big board (learner) in the gorge on a 9m?

it might, 149 is a pretty big board, and it is certainly easy to get up on.... though I forgot to mention I'm only 145. It is my light wind board though. Dano is bigger and I know he uses his fuse as a light wind board at Sauvies. Not sure how much he weighs, but I'd guess about 180 maybe?

the fuse isn't really a freestyle board though... i missed that part...sorry about that...it's more made to have fun on the swells (though it seems to jump just fine).

If you are interested in some gear though... look in the industry soapbox section. I noticed recently that seattlekites.com is blowing out a bunch of stuff. I got a sweet deal on my Fuse

nah, i am ot that big: 175#, but had a hellofa time getting up on plane at first, had to unlearn some wakeboard habits before i could ride, and my instructor finally sort of gave up and handed me the biggest board he could find.

i am currently downsizing my boards, looking for something i can jump bigger. the doyles are great in the swell but are shaped sort of long and curvy and sometimes i have a hard time horsing them into the air.

Thanks everyone, i ended up getting the 151 proof. Now that i have 5 good days under me on the board I want a freestyle board. While taking my lessons at floras w/will he had me start on a 146 misfitt for a couple of rides then he switched me out to a 136 misfitt, i was juiced on a 7 t2. when talking w/him regarding board size he sudjested i get a 126 misfitt. so now I'm looking for something in that range.. who has sudjestions for a board to fill this hole in my quiver? anyone gat an extra for 4sale?

looks like your on your way brutha!

i thought id mention that changing a board's size is a lot like changing kite sizes(meaning if your overpowered, try a smaller board and vice versa).

it is best to have at least 2 boards, one for lighter winds. and a smaller board for more powered riding (and jumping). but why stop with only 2? a whole quiver of kites should be in company with a whole line-up of boards. i think thats one of the greater aspects of kiting....mix it up
