Michaela’s kiteboarding journey began on the serene waters of Floras Lake, a hidden gem on the remote Southern Oregon Coast. With its consistent summer winds, the lake provided the perfect foundation for learning, but Michaela’s true passion lay beyond the dunes, in the challenging waters of the ocean. Encouraged by the local kiteboarding school, Michaela tackled the coast's powerful waves and unpredictable winds, pushing her skills to the limit and shaping her into the rider she is today.

The Oregon Coast, with its rugged beauty and isolation, is both a kiter’s paradise and ultimate proving ground. Vast stretches of windswept beaches, rocky headlands, and variable conditions demand a unique mix of skill, courage, and instinct. Without wind meters or easy resources, Michaela learned to rely on local knowledge and her growing expertise, forging a deep connection to this untamed coastline. |
