Anyone have a favorite "big" front wing for kiting they can recommend for low wind, but also feels “fast(er) and still nimble?
My experience is only on Phantasm and Moses 657 (medium to high aspect 750 cm) on the short 650 fuse and small 325 stabilizer for the speed and Moses 679 (990 cm medium aspect - smaller and faster then a 633) with 425 stab (which is a little smaller area than the Phantasm 400.
Friends have suggested both G900 (which seem ginormous at 1200 cm +), or maybe G800 (mid 900s I think), as well as the new higher-aspect Sabfoil-Moses Medusa Pro wings or PTM options around 900-ish. |

| The SS 684 front wing paired with the PS360 (V-stab.) This is a great all around kite setup: very nimble, pretty fast, great in low wind or high wind. It's right around 950 cm2 I think? Pretty close to the Moses 679, but the 425 you're using with it is like a brick around it's neck--IMHO. |

Geo, you'll have to adjust for the thickness of your gloves you utilize with the perceived increase of speed you'll get with a different wing configuration. The thickness of your gloves will affect your nimbleness in steering.   |

No gloves? LOL. It is above freezing in Minneapolis now. Just.
And removing the cover off of my stabilizer before riding I bet will help, too.
Thx for 425 feedback Nak; it FEELS super draggy compared to the 325, but if that V-shaped one is faster, it would be an easy upgrade. |

note that to mount the v-tail to a moses/sab fuse you will need to elongate the holes by 2mm each in order for the bolt holes to line up. Also the stab saddle on the fuse is ever so slightly different between phantasm and moses.
For light wind you can try the Balz 799 wing - it lifts earlier than 633/679 and has more glide. BTW 684 is the slingshot version of the 679 albeit much heavier. |

Have not read all the comments here, but I'm still rock'n the Stringy wave G-10 foil. It glides sweetly into the no-whitecaps low wind, it's carves aggresively on swell. I travel everywhere with it. Added bonus: I've struck dozens of coral reefs and it's indistructable.

I'm certainly not the normal kitefoiler, I only foil in light winds and I've always enjoyed riding big wings with minimal kite. I also only use Peak kites.
My two wings I kite are:
- Axis PNG 910b (1260 sqcm)
- Axis Spitfire 1180 (1550 sqcm)
They are both fun an super carvey and handle tip breaches without notice. The 910b I like to pair with the progressive stab but the 1180 needs to have a skinny stab or else it feels draggy. It's truly amazing how the 1180 feels with the skinny stab.
I don't like to go fast. They stall around 7-8 knots and usually I go about 10 knots with max speeds of 14 knots. |
