Where can I get my wet suit repaired? The neck part has several tears in it, from 'overstretching' I assume. I saw that Pro Motion isn't doing repairs for other brands anymore.

| How old is the suit? Just curious as it might be time for a new one. As far as repair, you could try contacting the company that made the suit. Some of the brands--like O'Neill and similar makes--are pretty good about standing behind their products. They may repair it for free, or for a small charge.

O'neill referred me to these folks after refusing to repair my GF's suit because it was "too old" (3-4 years & no longer under warranty).
I did not patronize them--I used aquaseal (which "voids your warranty")--but you see where this is going: less customer support from the wetsuit makers, more externalization of services and of your money.

I think the suit is 4-5 years old. It's still in great condition! Except for the neck piece. If I patch 1 tear a new one starts. Don't think I can even get this suit anymore : ( Hate to get rid of it for a weak neck seal...

Rent a new release movie on Prime, or whatever streaming service, bust out your dental floss and a needle and sew that rip up. Might help to have some type of patch material (like the black material photo'd just below the rip in that picture.)

If you can afford a new suit please for the sake of the shops and Industry buy some new gear for the upcoming season. Just a little from everyone will help the many and maybe keep small local businesses serving the few to stay in business! This is one of the biggest issue with Windsurfers... 95% don't buy new gear so the Industry is tanking.
Don't be a hold out when it comes to better gear and more enjoyable experience! I try to buy new snowboard gear every other year and give the stuff I don't use to others in need or sell it.

 Or maybe this attitude is what is wrong with the world. Everything is disposable. Just toss it into the watershed you love the most and let nature take care of it in the next 10,000 years or so.

Yeah IDK about this philosophy. it's a big stretch to frame buying new gear as doing something good. Fine to support local shops if you need them, but there are many far more deserving charities in this world if you have extra money.

Got my suit back! Brand new reinforced neck replacement plus a couple of iron on elbow patches for $75. I sent the suit to Lisa via UPS with a prepaid return label. Paid her via Venmo. She was super responsive via text and the suit was done in less than a week. This new neck looks more substantial than the original!

LOL, I was thinking of this thread last night as I kept an old snowboard jacket on life support with thread and glue. Glad the repair worked out for Cathy.
I bought 2 Oneil Pyrotechs back in 2014. When life is good and full of multi-session days, I like to have one suit drying while I use the other. In theory, it shouldn't cost me any more than using 1 suit twice as often. I've never adhered well to the recommendations for fresh water rinses and keeping them out of the sun, so after 9 years they are getting ragged.
Recently I set out on repairs with wetsuit glue and lots of sewing. I might have bought a little more time with them but I quickly realized it was a losing battle. For every tear I sewed up, a new one would happen on the next use. Take away is to know when a suit has had it. At this point they might serve as summer river suit to loan or give away.

Nothing like a brand new suit - last one a Oneill Psycho Tech with Techno Butter - most excellent (two years old)
but thats way too nice to drench in tuna or salmon blood - if you can keep that 13 year old patagonia suit that gives you carpet burns alive for another season - winning!

I'm pretty anal about my wet suit care. Always rinse and hang dry (out of direct sunlight) and after every couple of sessions I spray it down with diluted Dawn liquid soap followed by a rinse. Keeps it so fresh and so clean, clean!
The original neck on my suit is/was faulty IMO. The new one has reinforced thread along the top to prevent material separation and splitting (I hope). During Covid new wet suits that fit me were hard to come by. Particularly ladies suits. There certainly were no 3/4 length ones I could find which I like because they are much easier to take on/off. Especially if you've got a bum hip. I'm also not into 'short shorts' style suits that are 'made for women'. I'm not a 19 yo and the Columbia is cold most of the time. I actually have 2 men's xs full suits that I prefer over the womens suits!
Anyways, since I can't be on the water now I can talk about being on the water!
