Florence has been going off!!! Blowhard and regi have been to busy crushing it to post. I was in the hood today coming back from flying at chelan and it was nice to see what kiting is like without a 4/3, six foot swell, and big fish. Been along time since I've been there. I'll tell Blowhard you miss him Phil. Here are some classic Florence shots of Blowhard throwing down. Also some flying pics with A.P. in WA. Cool

It seems to me that this forum is all about,

But you PKH, said YOU saw me ride ,and others on here
and didn't bother to introduce yourself ,
so if this brings the community together,
I don't see it.

The only reason I bother with forums is for information and COMMUNITY.
Notoriatiy I don't crave.
I'm for sure not as much fun as most on here, so I don't bother showing how lame I am (PICS),
just trying to provide info and recieve info

Back in the 80's there was hundreds of gorge riders coming to Florence ,
Hard for the local(Eugene) riders to find a place to park even,
My hope was when the kiters showed up from PDX there would be some comaraderie
But I don't see it coming from here .

The issue of locking threads is also a real let down ,(IDEA KILLER)
who cares if someone is pissed off ,there are a lot of pissed off people in the world .
Locking a thread is like telling someone to shut-up,(something I try to never do )
They are intitled to thier opinion,
if you think it's wrong,
tuff shit
I hate to use it but freedom is not free ,
there will be some angst when disscussing ideas
Grow up and deal .

Must have been a misunderstanding dude because I don't think I've seen you ride, I haven't been to Florence yet (though I plan to go this summer.) I will come humble and with respect to you and the other locals.

As far as locking threads, I cringe every time I do it... but sometimes you gotta do something. Even KiteForum does it now and again (or move threads to the Flame area.) They let the gear wars threads go on and on and on... it just is retarded. 8 page threads with very little useful info.

My general feeling is that arguing online is really only interesting to the people participating in the argument. To the rest it just sounds like static and makes it harder to discern useful information.

I used to get into flamewars on KF, then 2000 posts later I realized I had wasted so many hours of my life getting upset when the whole idea of this sport is fun. That photo with the Special Olympics runner says it all...

But anyway dude, I miss your flare I really do, not being sarcastic. Bummer if I did something that left you feeling sore. I've heard similar sentiment from the Troll and I feel bad for that too... we need you coasties to keep it real.

Shorebreaks rock!! Beverly tube rides are pretty darned fun... but then nothing compares to Florence, right BH?

kited up to the Cove in rare, steady SW'lies at Seaside yesterday - VERY nice!! The whole beach was offering up some tasty treats for the goofies. multi-turn shoulder to OH lefts from the Trollatorium to the Cove - Oh Lord I wish it blew SW like that all summer long.

For sure the "You don't know me, but I saw you kite one time and you suck" posts are pretty freaking lame. Basically the opposite of community, and pretty reasonable to ditch a forum once you get hit with a few of those.

But you may be mistaken thinking PKH harshed on you that way John. Not the dude's style.

Ahhh, photos of Florence! Luv those mast high GRINDERS in the background. Respect to any kiter who even puts a kite up and ventures into even the foreground jumble of whitewater...

But on to the the paragliding images! Ahhh, Chelan and Alex Peterson... Alex gave me my first tandem ride, and Chelan was the first site I flew after getting my P2 in Utah! Fun site when the wind and thermals kick in together! Looks like you guys scrored a stellar day. Rumour has it that Alex is living in the Leavenworth area?

Alex, you out there?

Nice stuff Blowhard and Dan, thanks for sharing and that is what community is all about! Now I wanna go paragliding!
