For our Sandbar work party on Saturday, we need people to rotate the position of security guard, who will stay at the top of the ramp to the sandbar. This time we are going to have "Authorized Vehicle" signs provided to authorized 4x4 pickup trucks. The security guard decides who gets to drive on the sandbar, and hands out the "Authorized Vehicle" signs to those vehicles. We don't want vehicles out there that are not going to add value to the cause, and those of us organizing will have more responsible tasks than having to stay at the top of the ramp all day. Any volunteers? Please either post it here or PM me.

Was there a problem with vehicles going onto the sandbar and not helping?

I just spoke with Jim, I'm going to be the hall monitor!

We still need a few more people to volunteer to do 1 hour shifts. I have a cooler full of beer that you can sit and enjoy if you volunteer!

Does anyone have a Shade Tent like this we can borrow: I don't need the balloons or kids, just the tent.

That will be a dangerous item in the wind, you just can't secure them good enough and eventually it will be flappin all over the place.

A nice hat with a brim would be better. Cool

Will be able to assist as well.

I used to own one of these before the salt got it all rusty. You just have to lean it into the wind. Make the windward side shorter and it will stay put with the standard stakes.

Besides, this will be setup in the wind shadow of all those bushes.

Anyone have one? Tekko, you have a LF one? Might be good exposure?

I can see it now. Forrest with a pistol on his belt, beer in hand sitting in his shade tent interogating the various people to see if they are worthy of driving on the Sandbar Laughing

I'm brining my bow and arrows! I'll help the sheriff with those tricking kiters going through the no kite zone by sniping their leading edge bladders.

Seriously, I need a tent. I'm white.

I would love to provide a LF one...

...Except the cheap one I bought didn't survive the first sauvie's demo. Blew over in the wind and the frame was toast... bent AND broken!! I've got the fabric though, so if you get a frame...
