I was actually doing practice autorotaion landings up at Scapoose airport yesterday in the helicoptor. I think I am going back there today, if folks are out I may try to swing overhead and take some pictures.

I wish I had my own helicopter Very Happy

I am just taking lessons to get my liscense. Potentially a career change down the road a year or two. Sitting in a cube all day, while financially lucrative, is getting quite old.

When I was up yesterday I didn't see anyone out, but it was also hard to get my bearings on where the exact spot was from the sky. I looked in goolge earth today, and it looks like the beach is about 5 miles east of the airport.

I used to go fly an R22 in Corvallis with a Buddy who was a pilot, super fun.

Seems like a spendy drug to get hooked on!

Here is a little taster of the A -Star we flew in last spring in Valdez

Cool picture. I am currently learning on an R22. Great helicopter to learn on because it is so twitchy.

I agree though, a really expensive drug to get hooked on Smile

Were you in a white R22? You went right by us around 5:30 if you were. Are you taking lessons from HAI? If so STOP! before you lose all your money like I did!!!

Yeah I am taking lessons from HAI. Haven't had an issues so far with my current instructor, although he is over 1K hours now and leaving shortly.

I went up today and grabbed some pictures. Unfortunately I think most people hit stevensburg. Here are some overheads of the few kiters I saw out.
