Just got back from 8 days in Lake Geneva, WI for a high school buddies wedding and figured I'd bring the gear....

-so out of 8 days and 2 attempts at a boat launch, I got one super light-wind downwinder......and a super-punchy over-powered session yesterday before we left.

here are some pics and more coming...

I was kinda surprised at how nice the boat launch worked.....but the landing was a different story. Confused

Good stuff, Jake. How warm is the water there, and how's the wrist doing?

Nice! Any other kiters there? Was this a pioneering session for the lake? Do you know if you were the first to kite it?

DUde, water is money!! no suit needed at all.....but went swimming In Lake Michigan on a no-wind day and damn!! that's still super-cold.

Man,, the wrist is a major set-back....nothing unhooked and minor other fun stuff(loops, big air, etc.) Sad

-but, as of now I do need surgery again....I have what is called a "non-union", basically my bone never healed from last year and there is a significant gap in the bone, being held together by the screw.....so,, I am trying an alternative route....acupuncture, tons of bone-stimulating vitamins, and supplements until Aug 1st...then an x-ray to see if the "gap" is getting smaller and if so I will continue the methods untill no gap.
hope this works, cuz, if I go back and do surgery again, there is no garuantee that I will have my range and motion like I do now.

-So, if any of u's know any methods or vitamins to stimulate bone-growth.....hook me up! Very Happy

but, looks like you NW riders got some goods while I was gone!

I wish....no, no other kiters out there last week...but when I learned, I used to do downwinders with these two older dudes that were windsurfers turned kiters.... During the fall (when it actually blows) there will be 2 guys out there...max... They are the Hurn or Hern brothers and go the the gorge once and year to windsurf, anyone know them??

I started acupuncture after 5 weeks of non-movement of my wrist and fingers. During the last treatment when they 'plugged me in' I was able to move my wrist. next appointment Wendsday.

Acupuncture WORKS!

Good luck with your healing.

There is one of the most esteemed acupuncture colleges in the US right behind Mall 205. The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine

There are a bunch of highly trained doctors (the US recognizes their education and now offer a doctorate program) in their clinic and prices are very reasonable.

I don't have any specific practitioner recommendations - but tell them what you are looking for and they'll hook you up. Good Luck

Surely you meant "younger dudes".
Cuz the only "Hirn" brothers I know that kite and windsurf in Wisconsin are "younger dudes".

This one of them?

The Hirn's I know live on the East end of LG, like to drink at Chucks, know the Goes bro's, and Tommy and Steele, and sail LG in the Fall when it's nukin' , and I have been kiting with them at Lake Andrea once or twice when I was learning.

-and yes, I think that's one of them ragin' the pole-board. Very Happy

Are you a Hirn?
