Its been damn cold out there during these north winds. The currents are strong and the waves are big. There were some double overheads last nite growling inches behind. Surfing out there now is to be done with caution and confidence.
Sad to hear of these type of incidents. |

agreed.
this past sunday in PC, the ocean had laid down...flat flat flat... it was kind of wierd. I've never seen it like that here in oregon. there was a tiny beach break that some guys were hitting on a wakeskate using a cable winch system.... and some noobs out on longboards trying out the 1' break. |

almost a simular story...
i went out to ride the south beach of cresent city yesterday,....north-east winds,...slighty offshore. Next thing i know im out past the waves when the wind dies....im struggling to keep the kite in the air, and every time i try to get up it pulls me further out....oh crap!
i had to crash the kite and swim back 
if anyone has'nt been to cresent city, there's a nice set of waves (beginners...3-5ft) and the beach stays flat for a long time which makes a superb ride for kite buggy'ing. |
