I should be there between 1 and 2. I only have a 4/3 with thermal layers underneath, hood, boots, gloves. Anyone wanna try for a downwinder, or just ride Stevie?? Not sure how long I can last in 42 degree water Confused

ehh i rode there yesterday for about an hour and a half and it was not bad but if the poop hit the fan i wouldnt have been stoked. a downwinder might be kinda scetchy the good news is the current is pretty darn strong so staying upwind isnt hard. i gota do a few errands but im going to try to be out there around 230. im actualy not sure the model of drysuit it is but it was designed for waterskiing. OS systems is a great company for sure and i was really happy when it needed new seals that they were just down the road.

From an early post, Bam Bam wrote something that makes a lot of sense.
He said air temp and wind speed should add up to 100...I guess anything lower than that, you better bundle up....

I thought it was water temp + air temp, but then again I'm usually off .

Tucker... You always did go local Very Happy OS Systems is a local co. I was thinking of one of those suits. What suit was it? They have many different ones.

Yeah, your right....It's water temp and air temp....
As Bam Bam said, "Ever since I started windsurfing in 1990 I have used the 100 rule. Air and water temps need to at least add up to 100, or I go do something else."

Hey Tucker, if Jeff T. once used it, I can't believe the seams are still holding... Shocked
You must have a hell of a suit....

OK, I will shoot for 2 o'clock then. Shall I try and procure more rubber before I go?

Same for me yesterday sailing up to the bridge. After a couple scary lulls, I decided to stay right up wind of the huge sand bar. Around 4 it died fast leaving a couple guys swimming.

That LINK self launch was Tucker....

Many thanks to him, he gained some good kite Karma today.

1. He was there waiting when I showed up
2. He waits till I am done rigging and suiting up
3. Just so he can launch me
4. Waits to see if I am powered before he launches
5. Self launches and rides two reaches
6. Goes back in as the wind fades and self lands said link in the brush
7. Waits for me to finish riding, which consisted of a major slog down to the graveyard in a fading wind
8. Is there at the graveyard to pick me up and subsequently shuttles me back to my rig

So thanks tucker, glad you were there.

Hope we can make it happen tomorrow....

wow, missed you guys at stevenson. showed up at 1:45 and waited for about 15 minutes. thought you guys had come and went.......... so headed for Hood River.

Sounds like Hood River wasn't much better, except didn't have to downwind it to the graveyard!! Lasted about 45 minutes on 11m before fingers started going numb and wind started fading fast (also about 4pm). There were 4 kites. Was able to stay up wind but not much else. Still, got some kiting in, can't complain at that.

Was a good teaser. glad the winter is finally OVER..................

better to have found it here then down in mexico i guess...
