....bummer bout the kite!! not sure which is more surprising: the occasional theft at the ES, $1500 for a kite / bar/ pump, or the calls for "vigilante justice"....

Of course, the camera idea is great,practical and would definitely deter criminal activity. Although I've never had anything taken from ES, I did have a harness swiped from Stevenson several years ago....dog must've been on vaca

How about a sting? Take an old trashed kite, put it in a new bag (maybe SS will donate a new bag?). Get a GPS tracker. Film the take. Tell the cops what you are doing - or in lieu of that, just get 10 of your friends to go after these scumbags.
