Definitely a douchebag move. Off topic, I heard that several years ago, Stevenson had permission to add to the launch and make it like the Event Site. Sure would be nice to be able to drag launch when no one else is there. Whatever happened with that?

Dang Dangler, I could feel the heat of your blood boiling from Santa Cruz to PDX as I just got back from a short Nor Cal/south Or coast kiteabout. Watch your BP!

As for the shoving and cramming you are refering to, I think it would be much more APROPOS if you just DANGLED parts of the tree or pieces of someone's kite around their respective orifices for long periods of time...very similar in nature to the water dripping torture techniques the US supposedly doesn't use anymore.

The launch is fine when people are there and I'll admit it does keep beginners away. Just a bummer that you have to put the kite in the water when alone. Its the only east and west wind spot and I'd think Stevenson would want the business. The tricky launch doesn't keep it from getting crowded either, I've had to wait many times for half an hour to land in the summer as the wind dwindles though it's never crowded on the water. Even with a better launch I think most beginners would stay away since there's no good downwind exits

Hey mactard you just said it yourself. Why don't we make Stevenson a foofoo launch site and you can sit your ass in the river for an hour and a half waiting to land. Oh and by the way I've been kiting at Stevenson since 1999 and never have waited a half an hour to land.

I don't believe we should be calling each other names. No reason to call somebody Mactard, TAK ! Although, if somebody can't land for half an hour in Stevenson, they are probably eating too much McDonald junk.
Hey, I have another idea. Why don't we let somebody skilled carve a statue of Dangler, the father ( or a grandfather) of this sport and the oldest ( by far ) living kiter in the world?

Just got back from Cancun and read this; truly fucked up. Count me in to donate both to the new tree fund and the reward to catch and imprison this douchebag.

Just got back from SPI and read this.
I'm in complete agreement on all counts and sentiment.

Who, besides a Kiter, would have a motive to see that tree gone?

Who?!?

I'm struggling to come up with one...

In lines with the cliché; if it looks like a duck & quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

All valid possibilities… yet all with a very low to null probability.

Face it, no one besides a kiter has a logical, rational motive to go after THAT tree.
As the saying goes, smell the coffee… it’s a kiter, and IMHO one who kites there a regular basis.

I’d also like to be as bold as to say, if anyone had a real grudge against the Dangler, there were many and it was during his windsurfing days when he was known as the “Stalker".
I watched, like many of you did as well, many angry boyfriends want to take his head off in the parking for his manner of “swell ride/ tailing / becoming their shadow" with the Shred Bettie he picked that session.

What an honor to be the # 1 on your list, detectives. Have you finished high school by the way?
