Scored my 100th consecutive month of kiting in Oregon (needs to be a water sess - and launching in WA is OK as long as the riding is good and the Columbia midpoint is crossed to the OR side...)
Sunday was a worthy day of the milestone with Saleeba, Tony & CrazyC - consistent winds for the 14 mile downwinder with a heavy 9' @ 10 sec swell
guess its time to find another sport - thinking Sepak Takraw...

Would love to hear some of your stories some day. Must have had some experiences, traveled to fantastic destinations, and all of the kiters you met along the way.

G - You are my captain kirk. Too awesome to know any better.
Though.......... there was this one time, many many years ago, when I and only one other person on the entire sandbar were pumping up our kites, and a very certain individual kited up towards us and then kind of sort of, ended up doing a kite tomahawk faceplant onto the beach after ricocheting off of and over my back as I ducked out of the way.
Definite bandcamp memory.

Yo Pepi, I remember that clearly, thinkin I totally have this…
But speaking of Thunderdome, there was this time GeneK and I saved those drowning kids at the spit, it was 4th of July and someone called the cops on us for pumping up on the spit - all the spots were underwater but guess they deemed us too close to the firework setup team in the parking area. We had arrived with a big crew by jetski and everyone was scrambling back on the skis and buggin out before the police showed. Genek and I were pumped up – so we just launched and made off quickly.
This was just after the infamous “Kid Cluster” post, where feral youth were chasing and jumping on kiters. http://www.nwkite.com/forums/t-9274.html So I am sailing away from the spit and hear these wilding youth, making a racket, I sail over and am about to tell them to shut the fuck up, you only scream like that if you are in trouble…
one of the kids pointing “He can’t swim!”
they got swept into the river from the marina. My kid was underwater, but got him and he climbed up my back to the top of my head, classic. Genek was in boots but dragged his kid in. Figure that is at least a wash with mowing down the nicest guy in hood river.
