It looks like the Easterlies are returning for the long weekend.

Rooster is windy already today, despite the forecasts.
Sunday looks nice, and Veteran's Day looks like a possible nuker.

From NOAA:

WESTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...ROOSTER ROCK
318 AM PST SAT NOV 9 2013

.SUNDAY...PARTLY SUNNY. HIGHS 55 TO 60. EAST WIND 10 TO 20 MPH.

.VETERANS DAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY IN THE MORNING...THEN PARTLY CLOUDY.
WINDY. HIGHS AROUND 55. EAST WIND 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45
MPH.

From Temira:

There’s no west wind in our near future, but there are some easterlies for those so inclined. We’ll see a slow increase to E 15-18 today. Tomorrow sees a little disagreement in the models, but I expect we’ll get 20-23 at Stevenson and 24-28 at Rooster Rock. Easterlies ramp way up on Monday for 25-29 at Stevenson and 30-35 at Rooster Rock.

Nice!

Only got 2 but they were beautiful (12-2). Flat water lagoons, felt like cold Brazil. Small swell riding, upwinder to Bridal Veil (too choppy, went back to lagoon). Got to kite with Big Dave, Darren and Cal and Crew. Fun times.

Shout out to Darren For rescuing whoever thr was, and thanks to Cal for the ride.

Such sweet sweet love from Mutha Nature this fall.

See yall tom

Who's planning on getting some of this action?

Don't feel like a solo sesh in 40 plus knots.

Couple of questions for those who went yesterday. We're booties required? I'm guessing the water temp is probably mid-fifties right now.

Did anyone launch on the east beach at dalton for a downwinder? Wondering if the rains this week affected the water level some?

Thx!

Went from 3-5pm. Had my cap and gloves on but no booties. Was fine to be honest. Launched from the east end of the parking lot trail.

good kiting with y'all today. first time I got nearly ripped off the water on my 6m (this was around 9 am this morning, on the Washington side of Rooster). I'm assuming there were near-50mph gusts. Fun times... Followed by 8m goodness, with the lagoon reappearing this pm, for some flatwater goodness.

Bonus: JPerry comes out later and shows us all how to kite. He killed it, in punchy 8m conditions (on a 9m of course).

Great weekend folks! I was surprised how many people came out to get some action at Rooster today!

Thanks for the photos, Tracy (and Cal)!

Nice picture of Tracy! These November Sundays just keep pumping it out! KMG and I counted at least 25+ peeps on the water. Great vibe and good times as always! Thumb's Up
