40 at Rooster. May be going to Stevenson or Jones since I don't have a 4m. NWkite's clock is wrong by 1 hour. Posted at 7am

Jones beach has been the most consistent spot in the last week - does it usually go off like this on easterlies?

Heres Jones, Stevenson, and Rooster for Monday. I was at Stevenson on a 6m from 10-1. The sensor is at least 5 mph low when out of the NE. Was thinking of Rooster or Stevenson again, but Jones looks great! just a lot further from pdx

Of course now that we care about the gauge for rooster it is down again. I know thw wind is strong and the picture shows it but i would be nice to see. Today looks like it might be a little tougher to hold the 7 down:-). Thanks ikitesurf you suck. Every day for the last month the gauge has consistently failed and all they do is research the problem. Let me guess the gauge will be down all day an magically reappear tonight. I hope I am wrong! Get off ur ass and fix the gauge or start refunding money!!

No Easties for me today. What is it with work anyway? Why doesn't Obama do something usefu,l like creating a "WindStokeage" bill? A paid holiday for all wind junkies whenever the wind is blowing.

Headed to Jones with the dog. It's 12 m at Kalamba but actually west winds and clouds. The sensor at Jones shows east but must be still screwed up from the ospreys

Not a chance. That's a legitimate reading. Other nearby observations and the pressure gradients are offshore.

Looks like rooster will be too much this AM if you don't have a really small kite. It's annoying the rooster Ikite sensor is still down. The gusts at the crown point sensor seem similar to what the rooster sensor would show, and it looks like they are still pushing 50.
I'm curious how Jones is on Easterlies. Never tried it, but it seems like it could be good.

KMG-365 - I've made two trips to Rooster Rock Light 66 recently. On Sept 18th, 2013 I climbed aboard and completely rebuilt the existing system. The anemometer had been destroyed (either by 55+ mph sustained winds for days or osprey) so we used a $1300 RM Young unit this time around. Unfortunately the new electronics tray we installed is having severe trouble connecting with AT&T's network due to it's location on the very fringe of the 4G network. This causes the tray to repeatedly switch back/forth from 2G to 4G and our engineers have isolated a bug our code which may be responsible.
On Oct 14th, 2013 I climbed aboard once again with a replacement tray, the electronics worked fine while I was there but within 2hrs of getting back to Hood River it had crashed again. There have been numerous discussions with AT&T and KORE (who repackages plans for small company usage) personnel in an attempt to isolate the exact source of registration failure as replicating the failure on the lab bench in Boston has been impossible.
A 3rd tray is scheduled to arrive on WED Oct 22nd, 2013 and it contains some code which we hope will circumvent the issue. Once winds switch back to onshore flow, I'll get up into the basket once again.
We've been in business a long time KMG-365 and we certainly appreciate your support. Sometimes we come up against really difficult problems and we work very hard to provide elegant and reliable solutions.

Thanks much for the reply. I probably should not complain as we have a camera that shows current readings too.Sounds as if we need some stronger equipment. 55 mph is nothing there when it can blow to 85 in the winter. ? It would be nice if your updates showed up when u clicked on the sensor Instead of a message from sept 24? Thanks again and please get it back working.

Mikez was right, it's east at jones. Sunny and 9m but rather cold. Was warmer wind at Stevenson yesterday. Weird that it was 10-12m west at Kalama. Foggy and still at Longview.

Man, look at that graph.
It was a full moon, or nearly, and the wind was howling...
I wonder if tonight might do the same...

Can you guys add this sensor to Ikite? http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KWAWASHO9
It really fills out the picture when used in conjunction with the RR sensor. It's on the shore across from where Skamania Island used to be. As long as the gust factor shows pretty steady on a graph, then steady state winds are equal to the gust reading. If the gust factor graph is all over the place, then it really is showing the gusts.

pretty windy again at rooster today.
not sure if you could make an 8m work or not.
was on a six boosting bigger than ever.
stu, as a subsrciber yeah I get frustrated when a sensor is offline. but I appreciate your response and explanation. makes me understand the situation better and can respect that it takes time to get it dialed. I've got no problem as long as you guys are on it and get it resolved. the rooster cam is nice because we can usually tell if its whitecapping. for now "just bring your smallest kite" works haha
nak that prindle sensor is not on ikite, however it is on www.windalert.com

Ps. Anyone find a white rope with a carabiner and clip on the ends. I left my self landing anchor on the beech at the upper launch point yesterday next to mrs and mr captain America. Had a slight change yesterday and must have causes a meme tart lapse of memory!! Anyone pick it up or maybe I can get it when I return tomorrow ?? Thanks Blake
