nice work G. that cabal looks good. cooler than the populist shinn design. we should trade boards sometime next summer. on the other hand, you seem to have chosen some very wussy conditions to play with a new skim. you need to step it up and stop being such a fairweather flatwater princess.
on thanksgiving i was a bit late for a fast front, so after a while i walked the kite over to a really small (10-15 second reach) tidal marsh next to the beach and skimmed there. it was really fun and tricky. it was filled with marsh brush/grass and i could skim right over it whenever the water ran out--or over the mini islands. i also found a little 2ft wide water path/ditch that snaked about 30ft through the dry grass, and i rode through that twisty maze one way. too bad the powerlines are a bit over 100ft downwind--only for lightwind. only a skim can make an overgrown mud puddle so much fun.

P.S. - Even though you guys on the land boards were using small trainers, you aren't using harnesses, are ya? When I've had our B3 up in those conditions, I could manage playing unhooked for a while, but most of the time it was way nicer just locking into my harness with a "custom made" rope chicken loop. haha! |
I have a hard loop on my 4m but nothing on the smaller trainers... works fine. It's not like there's really much of a chance of jumping so you just zip around.
Yesterday produced some very funky winds on N coast. Seemed like it would be sailable but it switched direction frequently adding to fairly gusty conditions... decided to work

Thats awesome - was thinking that Lewis & Clark State Park in Troutdale - might have some marshy skimable spots. Just have to miss the high power lines.
