Love this vid http://vimeo.com/73004827
I wish more kiteboarding mfrs would make kid sized gear. I have a 9yr old that can't wait to get started.

I have a two year old who watches cartoons upside down and can't seem to stop jumping off shit...feeling hopeful.

And I thought that the MTV VMAs were horrible last night. I might have to reconsider what I think horrible is. You just made Miley Cyrus look good.

That was some sick riding! Anyone know where all the reed channels are? I want to go check that out...
Could have done better with the music though...

Small kites that work well for light riders are hard to find.
To drive the kite forward in the window to depower it during a gust in The Gorge , most kites ( even the 4m and 5m kites) require the rider to weigh more then 80 lb or require the rider to dig a trench in the water.
the Cabrinha switch blade is the best kite I have found for riders under 110 lb in gusty conditions because it slips forward and depowers with significantly less front line tension. This lighter tension also helps riders under 160 avoid getting pulled off strapless surfboards when encountering big gusts.

This Dad was teaching this little dude at the Sandbar last Friday on a 4.5m RPM. I dont think the kid weighed 80lbs even dripping wet.
Wish I would of started at a young age, maybe I would be doing handle passes now.

Thanks! Shot with my old Canon Rebel XT (6mp) w/ 70-300 zoom lens. I was planning to get a new camera this summer but decided to get more kite gear instead

That Dmitri dude has really got the stoke. And it's exactly where I want to be in 5-10 years with my daughters.
The music is excusable. He's clearly eastern European. (I can say that as I married into a Polish family)

All of that was filmed in the Outer Banks. Go out there and I am sure you will see Dimitri selling his kites at the launch.
