That's near where I met whitey - saw em and sailed over to check it out - thought it was a dolphin...

KAPOOYOW

You won't have to worry about this Kook. I know my limits. It was challenging enough on my windsurfer.

Dammit Stevie - I was out of town!!! To be fair. Before everyone loads up and heads south. This spot is kiteable about 5 times a year. The rest of the time it is a classic siren's song. My boy Aeolus just happens to have bowling ball nuts. You need a damn 12M on the inside and a 6M on the outside, and in the middle where the actual waves are...let's not talk about the middle section. Aeolus is the master of riding backside strapless in nuking and gusty conditions. Aeolus earns these premier sessions through pure dedication to the spot. It certainly isn't just waiting there for anyone with a couple sessions under their belt. If the kooks do choose to flood the area, I'll be in the parking lot with a camera and the coast guard on speed dial.

...Oh, the classic accidental kiteloop in 4 inches of water. That's the kind of badassery the Deep South Coast crew has to offer. You may not be impressed - but you will be entertained.

Note to self: regardless of experience, never, ever, ask where a spot is you see in a photo of someone kiteboarding!

^^^^Laughing funny stuff Laughing
no secrets down here. those first shots are Cape Sebastian where the windsurfers have it on lock down for decades... Late spring/summer time its a pole zoo. It works sometimes for kites.... other times not so much. Can never tell until you go in there and see what happens to yourself.

People should not hesitate to try the south coast out. It's a stupid windy place...but that's the point.

@bdennis -looks windy this week too... feel free to PM me if you're rolling through Gold Beach/Pistol River area and we'll point you in the right direction.

Here's some storm time on Saturday just north of the rogue jetty at a place we affectionately call Turd Ponds (for the waste treatment lagoons near by):
