Rowena is a tough launch for anybody no matter what level you are. There but for the grace of God go I.

A fast recovery to you,
R

Hey Lloyd, glad to hear you are going to be alright. I jacked myself up pretty bad and also shattered my elbow at Stevenson launch in '09. I guess it makes sense that the elbow takes the brunt of the hit. It will probably follow you for awhile but you end up putting it in the past one session at a time. Physical therapy is the key to healing a broken elbow. Mine is basically like it never happened except it has a big point on the end of it. Laughing
Good Luck!

Lloyd, best wishes dude. Been there and done that, and it's no fun. Keep your eyes focused on the future and try not to get bogged down in the present. There are some pitfalls to avoid or persevere through along the way. Narcotics addiction, weight gain, adjusting to the changes your body will have. PM me if you want to talk, I can send you my number.

Speedy recovery Lloyd and all the best for being a firefighter.

Two questions, were you wearing a helmet? Can you describe what went wrong?

Thanks
kt

Never seen another kiter at BIngen, wonder why?
Not an easy launch but not much worse than Stevenson, and the trip up river is spectacular

heal up Lloyd
you sound like you're in good spirits all things considered.
glad you're able to post up and tell us you are okay.
good job to tom and brian getting you taken care of. this could have played out much differently had you both not been there to help.
I've been there (with injuries) and its great when other kiteboarders step up and have your best interest at heart.
speedy recovery and do your therapy. you'll come back stronger than ever.

Dude, glad you are alive and well (all things considered). I've seen people get bit, but never thought it would happen to you. I'm glad your injuries aren't' as severe as they could be and you're in good spirits. Heal up quick!

Get well quick. Loyd's expierence should remind all of us more seasoned riders to still keep our situational awareness in our forethoughts and not become complacent with a task we have done hundreds of times. Remember to evaluation your launch and riding area to mitigate the risk instead of running in robot mode like we tend to do often. Ive drove away from Rowena a few times because it being sketch conditions even though I hate doing that with a passion. I want to kite not drive for spots.

Get well soon.

I just talked to my buddy tonight. He said Lloyd is back at work on light duty.

Just thought I would provide an update.

Sounds like the surgery went well.
