Sat Feb 23, 13 5:43 pm Looking to move back to the Gorge |
|
|
Hey All,
After a few years in LA doing some hardcore aerospace engineering, I want to move back the NW this summer, specifically the gorge so I can do some kiteboarding again, its been far too long! If you know of any companies that may be hiring between now and the end of the year, please send me a PM, I'm open to any jobs, engineering or not, just need something to sustain me up there
Cheers,
Spike |

Grass is definitely greener when you are standing on the other side of the fence!
Living in LA can definitely put a new perspective on what life is all about, and where you would really like to be ...

ditto. I'm a surfer & enviro consultant, been a sailing instructor for years, looking to move to HR with my wife & pup. I'm open to a variety of career paths. Will be trading surfing for kiting; looking fwd to mtn biking new trails - Laguna Beach, San Diego, & Orange County have become stale. Thoughts? |

I work for an enviro firm in pdx. We have a few that commute from the gorge a couple days a week and telecommute the rest of the time. Might be an option...not a lot of enviro firms in the gorge.
Interfluve is pretty specific work but might fit. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I will get in touch with Inter-Fluve. I'll take care of my pup's poop too, don't worry about that. |

For sure. There is a designated kite beach 15 min walk from my apartment which I was super excited about when I moved here, but they require launching form only a specific 100yrd wide strip of beach, and it's right in front of a 100ft high cliff, hardly any wind on the beach there (creates a huge stagnation point in onshore wind conditions), no matter how many whitecaps you see outside the surf. You end up failing to launch an 11m kite in whitecap conditions . I've managed to get out there 3 or 4 times in nearly two years (see http://nwkite.com/forums/t-25442.html), I had more sessions in one week while living in portland! |
