The Siletz might be great today between storms if it drops off a little. I give it a solid 35% chance of being awesome.

In my experience if the storm wind starts to get above ~20 S it gets very punchy at the bay. Then you're going to have your rain, strong tides with debris filled flood water. I saw they've been getting lightning too, so watch for those T-storms and drop your kite! If I wasn't going to get a xMas tree with the family I'd be interested. Smile

I actually did Shipwreck instead of Ponds. Something compelled me to take on the froth and turbulence of the waves out there. I didn't stay out too long because I was alone and I can't fit my feet into my board straps when I am wearing boots (apparently). Time for some new footstraps.

Wind was pretty consistent 30-33mph from S and a bit SW, so side/slight onshore conditions. There were some lulls and high points in there, but I was fine overall on my 8m and Twintip. I was wearing 3m boots, some really crappy gloves not conducive to watersports, 4/3 full suit (with a bunch of splitting seams that let water in), and helmet. Never felt cold, except when I first stepped out of the car in normal clothes.

God damn it was nice to get out and kite. I'd do it again tomorrow but I'm hitting Meadows instead!

Got the goods at the ponds today too. Actual sunshine and 30mph winds for a good 90 minutes between squalls. Then the sideways rain that felt like hail hit, but it was good for awhile!
