I was just making a joke about Oregon's legalize pot measure, but apparently Washington's really did pass.

Its not really legal, still a class 1 drug, but now they will be able to test you and give you a DUI.

CO also passed it. Yeah... Now if I get pulled over tired with bloodshot eyes, I'll get the pleasure of riding in the back seat... Getting my blood drawn... And a waste of time...

People on medical maryjane have THC in their system all the time are they supposed to stop driving now?

Is driving high anywhere close to as bad as driving drunk? NO

Anybody could get a mm card if they want to, at 18. Yet instead of that people vote to basically trade a ticket for possession for a DUI ticket so 21 year olds can possess an ounce, STUPID. IMO

Legal sounds great, until you add the DUI bulljive, not to mention the tax and license bulljive. Even better buljive, a licensed grower, cant just sell to a licensed retailer, he has to sell to a licensed processor who then marks up and sells to the licensed retailer. Brilliant built in beuracracy

The fat greasy bloody finger of govt. just got a power up.

People are inherently scared of what they don't understand. Be brave my friend, it will work itself out. If it doesn't, you live in a country where you can organize and change it. You also live in a country where you can arm-chair-quarterback too... But that accomplishes nothing.

What would they pull you over for???? Driving to slow and laughing hysterically? Alcohol makes you feel like shit and do stupid things while weed gets the yard work done. I've also "heard" it will help you focus on the incoming set of waves as you smack the shit out of that lip.

It's a long battle ahead but it is a move in the right direction to remove it from the class 1 schedule narcotics list on the federal level and open the opportunity to have its uses researched as a legitimate medicine. My close friend diagnosed with ALS 2 months ago and his wife, who has returning liver cancer, were given a prescription to consume as much THC as they wish by the best doctors in WA. And not the leaf....we're talking straight hemp oil. For her they've seen positive turnarounds in patients but for him...it's just to assist quality of life as his body shuts down. I don't condone heavy drug use, but marijuana does not have supporting evidence it's a gateway drug or when was the last time you read about a marijuana overdose???? Never, while death by alcohol poisoning happens daily.

It is crazy to spend billions of tax dollars( which we don't even have) fighting the importation and housing of criminals. Decriminalize it, regulate it, tax it, and move on. It won't be perfect but it's a step in the right direction to keep the money locally then enforce the laws that make sense like keeping it out of schools, the work place and off the road. Just like alcohol.

Good point Forrest.
I voted FOR this measure. Not because I thought it was highly crafted or was a perfect measure, I voted for it just to send a message to DC... It's finally time to wake up! Once a landslide of different states join us, it will become legal. This is how the 21st amendment finally passed, after a slew of states demanded it.
I remember that day! Smile

I am quite familiar with the system Forrest and understand it quite well. I simply do not want to be lumped in with the drinkers. Yesterday I was legal, soon I will probably be illegal everytime I get in my truck, which is no big deal until you get pulled over for speeding, or have a tailight out, or you didnt notice your tags expired, or you forgot to put your seatbelt on etc.

Drunk DUI at .08 means if you drink one or two beers you shouldnt be driving, probably gonna blow a .08 or to close for comfort. Hopefully the THC test will not be so tight, but I doubt it

Oregonians saw through it, Washingtonians didnt, I would have held out for a fairer law like the Oregonians did. Way to go for that shiny dangled in front of you Washingtonians and not meditating on the freedom you lost in the process.

Wily the message was sent years ago when MM was passed

Another fun fact from this law is it will be taxed 25% from producer to processor, and 25% from processor to retailer, and 25% + local sales tax from retailer to customer. Thats about 83.1% where I live.

None of these can be the same individual, and said individual cannot have any financial connection to any other step but one....a producer cannot own a retail outlet....a producer cannot process his own product.

The medical law is clearly superior, no taxes, no bloodtest DUI. Anybody can qualify for a card, and it is a great way to stick it to the man even if you do not smoke.
