it all depends if you are wearing board shorts over your wetsuit or not _________________ Slingshot | Ride Engine |Try before you buy | PM me

If you're a beginner: booties on the inside. When you crash, the top of your suit will fill with water and if the booties are on the inside, will help in draining out the water.
If you can ride, definitely booties on the outside. When you ride, water will shoot up your bindings and boots and will go up your suit legs if the booties are on the inside. Outside will prevent this.
Hope this helps. _________________ Respect the kite, respect the beaches |

Most cold weather suits, good ones anyway, come with a velcro cinch strap to put around your ankle. You are supposed to wear your booties tucked under your suit. Then you use the cinch strap around your ankle. Suits used to have velcro closures on the ankles to seal the ankle. That is no longer a design trend, as velcro doesn't work when it is sandy.
Wearing the booties under the suit is not a beginner thing. It's an everyone thing. If you don't your booties fill with water and they move independent of your foot. Not the greatest. |

Not a beginner, but I always wear my booties over the ankle seals of my ION Drysuit in January. This prevents cold water from jetting up through the seals. But I've been told I have delicate ankles.
OK, Is this subject dead yet? If not, go to kiteforum.com and it'll become a sticky with 12 pages I'm sure. _________________ CGKA Member

Well I ALWAYS wear my booties on the outside cause it's warmer after I pee.
And I look like a dork, which seems to be right in line with the current style these days.
I've also been putting shorts on over my wet suit cause I think it looks bad ass and I like the extra steps it takes to put them on and take them off. Always looking for ways to take a little longer rigging and dressing. Jersey too. Love those pro ball sport Jerseys! Soooo bad ass when I go out looking like that.
Not to mention my high top tennies when I'm strapless.
Cool shit and that's why I love this sport cause I can do my own thing and it's all good with the bros. |

Booties, wetsuit, duct tape wrap. Old surfing trick. Gorilla tape works great, easy to tear and remove and the glue doesn't melt like the cheap stuff. |
