Throwing a frontroll my lead foot got pulled from the front binding and the board continued to wrap around my other foot ultimately leading to a broken metatarcil. Two weeks into recovery I'm done with straps. Boots are easy, they make sense and there is to much fun to be had strapless altogether to ride with straps. Peace.

If you dont do board offs dont ride straps, even just for all around shredding the board is so much more responsive when in boots!! Boots or strapless. Lose the efin straps!!!!

Thanks G. I was actually wearing heel straps when it happened. I don't think it would make a differenceeither way though.

I haven't in years, but they sure were fun back in the day... maybe I'll dust off the strap board and have an old school day sometime.

My comment was mainly aimed at anyone thinking that their style of riding is superior to anothers.

sorry about your metatarsal. Even though I suck - every time I go back to straps I am swiftly reminded why it is such a terrible idea. In my experience I am most likely to go one foot out on fronts - i guess the rotation after pop torques the foot out of the strap, rather than in like on a back?

I would agree about the added response n safety of boots but what do you do when the launch area is full of boulders and you can't slip into yer boots on shore?? Some sweet launch sites are wide open flat sandy beaches with no shore break but others are not

most of us ride the board out strapless into open water to put our boots on.

It's called body-dragging, if you can't do it you shouldn't be kiteboarding.

Ya bodydragging out from the beach into the waves to put yer boots on?!? Think I'd rather go strapless on my surfboard!! I was just trying to point out that getting in/out of yer boots on the beach is not always possible n bodydragging out to put yer boots on will get you smashed by waves or run over in other destinations..... I do agree though having one foot come out sucks!!! I go strapless on my surfboard for that reason!
